Why you keep harping on about the 7 man format and PSP is beyond me Nick, the future is 5 man, XBall type format..end of !
If the future is 5 man this could see allot of lower teams that want to progress making the decision now to drop 7-man an concentrate on playin what will be the future so as to get a jump start when it all changes.

Not XBall lite but it's called M7.....referring to the 7 man roster before each match but with 5 players playing.
Definitely a move in the right direction....
Hmmm if its a move in the right direction does this mean Pro Tour (UK) will adopt it since most of its teams will either be playing it at milleniums or wanting to next year through promotion from Div 1.

Is this why we have heard not allot about whats going on with it this year untill certain decisions were made in other leagues?

Is it BEST of 9 (first team to 5 points wins) or first team to 9 points wins? Cause the latter doesn't make any sense - nobody is going to score 9-8 in 15 minutes, much less even 5-5.

As for the universal format, etc, this appears to have been a meeting of the Pro captains. I don't see anything saying D1 has to be one way or the other- so if you D1 teams want to play the Pro format, why not just ask for it?

The M7 format looks like PSP D2/D3 xball with more restrictive rosters. So to that end it's pretty similar.

Ok, just got back to good old sweden...

Sam I believe u got it a bit wrong there.

There will be 1,5 meters from the bunkers to the boundary of the field, then 2,5 meters from there to the netting, and from the netting to a fence 5 meters. So in total 9 meters space where no one is allowed to be. The stands and all spectators will be minimum 9 meters from the closest player in other words. So no more standing next to the net yelling at the players.

Chicago, it is fisrt to 5 points, or best of 9 at the most. So every match will have 5-9 games.

Will write more tomorrow.

And 9 meters through net really is pretty far. How effective it is will vary on crowd size, from moderately to totally ineffective as the crowd gets larger, but even with a small crowd really only players on the tape are going to have much luck being coached (I've barely been able to coach non-tape players from INSIDE the netting) and even then they're going to need to pay considerable attention for the communication to be effective.

It's tough to be aware of where paint is coming from and where your teammates are getting shot at from AND also try and communicate with someone 180 degrees in the opposite direction from where all that other important stuff is happening.

It looks like XSV will miss the first two events as Max Masters collides with PSP Las Vegas. Is this the end of American presence in the MS?

Jasper, I'm not so sure there is going to be a pro league, there could be but I haven't yet heard of any plans to go ahead with it.
The reason you hadn't heard of much going on with the Pro league had nothing to do with other leagues and everything to do with the fact nobody's doing much with it.

Sherman Unless each team has a presence at each and every Millennium Champions league event, they then relinquish their spot; XSV, like Joy and Nexus have to find substitute squads to fill in for them.
I talked to Mag last nite and he's cool with that, I will call Rich tonight and find out what XSV are doing.

I think that running different formats is the wrong step to take. I can see the logistical reasons behind it and it is clear that the financial implications that would come from running M7 in the lower leagues would be significant. Running a schedule the way they would have to would mean a lower number of teams or a longer event since the majority of teams are in the bottom two divisions.

But after all of my dissappointment and wrestling with conspiracy theories to justify the thought "its not fair!" to be honest im just gutted we wont be playing the format this year!
