The edge of the bunkers will be 1.5m from the netting.

The barriers will be 2.5m from the netting

The stand will be 5m from the barriers

So I guess there will be standing room in between the barriers and the stand. It wont be asfar back as it sounds.

Also it was agreed in principle that should CPL teams want to transfer players the agreement of both captains would be needed. In the event where a contracted player wanted to leave and join another team, the player would be unable to join the new CPL team unless his present captain agreed. The MS board would help settle disputes and enforce a prevention of the player playing in breach of his contract.

And any CPL votes would have to be passed by a 2/3 majority. Any less and the issue would default to the MS board.

Alot of talk about format. I agree with how MS is handling it - let the pros try the new format and see how it works before filtering down to the lower ranks. Best to avoid another open xball fiasco.

I find it funny no one commented on this. Sounds like Joy, XSV and Nexus are going to have to make a choice on which league to play.

Oh, and I like the bit about CPL teams being able to sell their spot and the league gets a fixed slice. Nicely done.

I will wait to hear official info on what the decisions are, and why they came out like they did.

I will say that this is not what I expected.

Nick - when did PSP claim a "universal format" was coming? I certainly never intended anything that I said or wrote to imply that was imminent. It has certainly been something that I hoped for. It is something that I somewhat expected from the MS, and to some degree expected from the MS. I also expect Xball in some form to be adopted by other series both domestically and abroad. But, there is no real concerted effort to push it on people, nor have I expected it to become the "international format" in the NEAR future. I believe it is the best format going and will eventually be adapted by intelligent providers of tournaments who are honestly looking to progress the game into a sport. Nothing more. Nothing less.

Assuming spectators are allowed to stand at the barriers, they're only 4 meters from the tapeline bunkers. So, not that far away.

Since the rosters don't have to be announced until after the first event, this allows Joy, Nexus and XSV to put in substuitute squads for the first event thereby allowing teams to play both if they so wish.

I was just wondering what will happen to any vacant spots IF teams get kicked out due to not fielding a team at the first event...etc People have mentioned Joy/XSV/Nexus plus maybe others. Only asking as my team finished 16th in CPL2005.
