OK, now realistically...

In what universe is there any reasonable expectation of European involvement in any US-televised paintball league?
It just doesn't add up. Even if whoever had done what it took a year ago to get Europe involved, I'm almost certain Europe would have still been uninvolved from any hypothetical TV deal regardless. From the US TV perspective, it just ain't worth it to have Europe involved - what European involvement brings to the table isn't worth the expenses that come with it.
Fact of the matter is, on average, US Pro teams stomp European Pro teams. Even if there are one to three European teams who could put up a fight, having a league of US teams plus a couple European teams is just plain distracting. We'll tolerate Canada, as most Americans have a rough idea where that actually is (It's north, right?), but across the pond just isn't going to happen.
Is there an imbalance as far as paintball goes between the US and Europe? Absolutely. Is it likely permanent? Probably. Get used to it - sports that start in America are "better" in America, and sports that start in Europe fair better in Europe. Same reason European football (your football) players are paid much more than our soccer players.
But if it makes you feel any better, we've always been good about canabalizing the best European talent and letting them play stateside.

As much as my knee jerk reaction when I first read any of yer posts is to start slammin you Chris, I have to agree, leastwise in principle, with this one.
I say in principle, because in practice, we actually did have an agreement to take part in a world series but chose to decline it.
Now the likelihood and integrity of such a proposed world series is academic in this case because this was on the table as a viable and agreed option.
Now, come the TV deal, the proposed league structure may well have come under some pressure, bearing in mind the way Yanks love their sport dished up to them in their front rooms.
But what is undeniable, we (Euros) never gave ourselves a chance to resist that pressure.
Now whilst a lot of yer other sports leagues are structured domestically with the exception of some Canadian instances, I also believe the Yanks love to revel in their presumed, and in most cases, actual supremacy.
And what better theatre to wallow in it than a world league where we have your arch-nemesis, the Russians, America's perennial friends - those lovely crooked toothed people from the land of Austin Powers, those nasty French people and maybe some equally nasty Germans, you get my drift.
The Yanks would have lapped it up...especially when all of us over here would have been served up for mere slaughterous amusement for the American viewer........
I mean, my God Chris, you guys could have even re-built the Colossuem and every time an American team played against a Euro team, we could have played in there
