In Amsterdam in the Semi's i think while playing shockwave, lost the 2nd game due to having hot guns and in the 3rd game didn;t hung the flag so there guns weren't checked by the chrono which can only suggest they were again shooting hot!
Let's not pile more onto this than need be.

In Amsterdam, they lost their second matchup against Shock because of a hot gun - and quite obviously - when they did not need to hang the flag to go through in the third game, did what ANY seasoned professionals would do - made do with the transit.

ANY Pro team out there would had done the same, and ANY pro captain would have gone ape**** on the player afterwards, if he had hung the flag and run the risk of another hot gun.

This thread is about people blaming them for breaking the rules - so let's not blame them when they actually make use of the rules to avoid risking a loss.

If you don't like the rules - e-mail the MS rules committee to have them changed.

Shouldn't ANY pro captain worth his salt be going absolutely ape**** on a player if he has a hot gun?

I tried to say this in a nice way before but let me be straighter: This is bull**** and I would bet my car (don't have a house) that Laurent does not in any way apply pressure or pull strings on behalf of Tontons and I doubt that he ever has. I've been acquainted with him since the mid-nineties in various settings and, although he has sometimes questioned officials about certain decisions and sometimes expressed disagreement, he never has to my knowledge ever tried to manipulate things with his powerful and influential position in paintball. He is, as I said, dead set against such behavior.

Unfortunately I have seen examples of manipulation on the part of a few other prominent personalities, promoters and others. That is why we really need truly independent and untouchable officiating organizations and Laurent, more than any other top name in the business, is pushing for such an organization. He knows that is the next major thing needed to make this into a sport, before we get on TV.

Believe me, Tontons would laugh a vicious laugh if they heard any suggestion that they get special treatment...unless it is negative special treatment being discussed.

POST EDIT on request.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My point wasn,t laurent influences decisions with intent
what i was pointing towards was how much influence he has on european ball and maybe this accounts 4 the fact ton tons can maybe push the the bracket a little futher than they should maybe the guys on ton tons roster use him to squeeze the rules
thats what i was getting at never 4 a second was i pointing the finger at any one person 4 their behavior at campaign this weekend

You could say the same about half of the pro teams and their very influential connections. Those top pro sides are so well connected that someone really big in the business might get bent out of shape over any questionable decision against "their" team, whether it be a sponsor, team owner, team manager or a promoter who wants to keep some prominent team coming back. I've played and reffed some in all three major series and I can tell you that it just doesn't work that way. Refs don't have time to think about the possible repurcussions of their calls. Besides, Tontons had several suspensions last season, even a player ejected from the tournament grounds (I was at Malaga Beach), which goes against that theory.

It's not that you don't have a valid point and, yes, the leagues need to guard against the possibilities you point out.
