Ehm - but you can't have a penalty, when you have not figured out how to catch the offenders yet?

Then it all just becomes arbitrary.

"We're now voting for Robbos suggestion that gun cheats are beheaded in the future - but we have not yet figured out what the rules should be or how we will enforce them" ???

I wouldnt be that keen on real harsh penalties unless marshalls had more sense and the ability to catch it properly, at some events a gun that is ok with one marshall is illegal with another, and harsh penalties can lead to players getting banned (or whatever) cos the marshall made a mistake.

with so few people getting caught, perhaps it is time to make the penalties stronger though....
Sooner or later people are going to get caught bang to rights. If the consequences when they do are not much to grumble about, then whats the big deal? Typically teams want to talk about stopping cheating, but why not increase penalties. The only way they are going to have to worry about them is if they cheat, isn't it? I'm talking about getting caught bang to rights here, before people start taking to me about the refs etc.

Besides which, I believe the NPPL has it worked out for next year anyway, so long as the motions get passed through the rules committee that is.....

Better get ready!

Increase the penalties thru the roof, allow judges to call an illegal gun (just like they call wipes) ignore all the convoluted, arcane bs you are now gonna get as reasons for not doing it and just do it...the cheatin mofos would **** themselves....at least it's a start and we can work from there to iron out any creases afterwards.
Whilst people on here will discuss the demerits of this action, coming up with god knows what as to why it can't be done, the cheats flourish.
We need to act now not talk !!!

monetary penalties are the future
Look at every other mainstream sport.
Dangerous play = FINE!
Money talks

How come the paintball industry seems so scared to actually benchmark itself against other sports that have succeeded?

well for a start financial penalties for dangerous play.

creating a unified body..

Wouldnt it be nice to have an annual ukpsf annual general meeting...

It just comes across to me, and i may be wrong, that we seem to want to do something radical in the way we promote/do things.

Heres an idea, would you think a sunday league football type system would work in paintball.
Small number og teams in a league, each team is responsible for its own field.
You play home and away. You look after your bit and the other team looks after theirs. You share the cost of the marshalls.

Honestly buddy - would you trust such a system to the refs we have today?

How would you feel when, come Toulouse, 3 Nexus players are banned for gun cheats - just because some poorly educated ref felt like it?

I agree with the sentiment - but I think we are a far cry from having the personnel to enforce such a rule..... I WISH we weren't - but we are !

And the alterative is me letting my players go out on the field and at the verty least get out-gunned off the bat and lose more players than them in most games (frequency ramping) or run the risk of my players getting seriously hurt by scumbags who use velocity ramping.

I tell you what Nick, I will take my chances with the possibility of a ref making a bad call as against endangering my players in allowing them to walk on the field against some teams which is what's happening now because people always put up obstacles to what needs to be done.
Do the maths Nick, it's a lesser of evils here not a perfect solution but leastwise my way, nobody runs the risk of getting hurt because certain teams don't care about other player's safety.
