nobody cared anymore when they had poor result, but all of a sudden they come back and then, it's all about screw them, and let's boycot them. if you want to catch the cheaters, ask the promoters to buy the rader which can control rate of fire and speed, and let's control everybody. and apply the same rules to everyone.

I'd just like to say - as much respect as I have for Fred, who is one of the few Euro ballers that have played for the really big teams - that I disagree completely with this statement!
I think there are two kinds of Pro teams out there:
- Those that work to circumvent the rules to gain an edge
- And those that don't
Our guns have NOX boards from Knutec, owned by Rocky Knuth who is the captain of the Naughty Dogs, and he has a VERY firm policy that he will NOT programme a board with cheat modes.... were we even to get another programmer to change the software on one of his boards, he would drop us like a hot potato.... it is simply not DONE by any team using NOX boards - world wide!
Another very good example is Menace, who actually played the entiry Campaign Cup with TRUE SEMI - and got second place.
They did not play true semi because they do not have ramping on their guns - they do - but as a matter of principle, because the team is against ramping, they chose to play true semi.
Rumours of cheat modes have a way of inflating in paintball, to a point where the impression is given that "everyone cheats".... this is absolutely false, and is often a rumour perpetuated by those that cheat, as a way of excusing their choice to do so.
I know of several Pro teams besides my own, that most definitely do not use cheat modes on their guns - most notably Menace and Ignition.

Ah, then I misread your post and apologise. I feel exactly the same. As someone wanting to get into the sport I am put off by all of this uncertainty and back stabbing. The rules are inteded for everyone and should be enforced so.

I m French and portuguese , I ve lived in London for nearly 8 months.
I like my country and like live in London, share your life with different nationality is very interesting.
I think it could be nice if the war between French and English could finish one day, a lot of you brought some good opinion about this subject but some other said you must hate the Tontons because they are French, sorry but this person are stupid.
I m very sad too much French/English have this opinion about each others.
I don t know if the Tontons Cheat, but if they are over 15 bps you must open your eyes and watch the gun from a lot of other Pro Team.
When some of you said, we are enough to have a French marshall against us, I think it s very funny because the French Players think the same think about the English marshall, I have nothing against the marshall s nationality, I ask them only one thing they must do their job properly.
I watch the game between Nexus and Tontons, The basic rule in our sport is to put your hand over your head, the player from Nexus didnt do this thing and staid on his knees a few seconds, our sport is very fast, a few second could be enough to be dangerous.
I m not on the side of the Tontons because I m French, but the war against the nationality is so stupid, it s sad to see this problem in our sport.
I love our sport, I m like a lot of paintballer I spend a lot of money and a lot of my life for this sport, read some post piss me off, all the nationality must be together to clean our sport and note fight each other because our nationality is different.
I play for one of the best Team you can find, not for our result but for the reason we come from all over the world (Singapour, Germany, South Africa, England, Canada, USA, Ukraine, Portugal, Scotland, Greece, France... sorry if I forget some country)
I play for Iron Lions London, I very proud to play with them, I could find a best Team for the result but their are my friend and live every day with people from over the world teach you a lot of thing on the life.
Some of you could live this experience, and stop to live with your basic opinion somethime near to the Racisme.
We must play our sport together if we want the world think "sport" about the paintball and note a war in the wood.

Fred is talking more about the us pro team, but in their world that doesn t matter, they will kill each other on the field play at 350 , when you look at them you think they hate each other, and actually they even sometimes lives under the roof, wich is the case for exemple beetween Dynasty and XSV they pretty much live all in San diego and some of them live in the same house, and they would just laught about it in front of a beer when they go back home, but us it is different...we have problems of culture, and we defenetly don t belong to the same things , and for some reason the human being has a hard time to respect somebody who s not like him... but it would be better if we can get inspired by the american on that point thinking of it this way , we all love the game and that s why we re here , sometime we will have bad calls, sometimes we ll cheat some time that would be the other team... on the guns it is a different story... for sure tonton has very advanced guns, and I was at the base working on the project to have better guns as the impulse was such a bad gun to compete against other guns like timy and angels 2 years ago, but I cannot say that nexus is a poor little team that don t have airsmith and technologie on their team... even their cockers were great machines ... you can try their guns , they always work well... i m not saying that they cheat and i dont say that the tonton cheat either, but one thing for sure.if tonton could have cheating guns, Nexus defenetly has the technologi to do it ... i ve personnaly never complain about bonus ball or those kind of stuff ,and i know that a lot of team have played very hard... even sometimes , not on purpose, like intimidator who never had any better idea to sell the gun with velocity ramping as a factory setting just to provide a better air flow on hight rate of fire and be a better gun than the others .... but if we tell all we have to tell, it is a all dictionary...i ll still have to reply to somebody here .... i ll take the time to do it.by the way , it is nice to see that many people think futher than the lenght of their nose.
and hoppefully we could developp a better spirit in this game wich right now is sinking....even in the usa... the market has really slow down and , there is a lot of reason for that , but one of them is that in many ways and at many different level from sunday player to competition player that s not has fun has it use to be ... but it is a way more expensive that for sure.We have never said that beginers cannot have opinion, we just say that this opinion has to make sense and has to be fair.and in those answer pretty much all were very good except one or two ... i ll answer those ones.

But I would say this:
IF (and that is an "if" - because I do not know) - the guys on the Tontons are using velocity ramping - I think it is dangerous, and I would be the first to kick them out of the sport for life, if I knew about it.
I also think it is pretty stupid to use cheat modes when it isn't really needed... Menace getting 2nd last weekend proves it.... and velocity ramping on a 55 metres long field is a idiotic vaste of time..... that can have little other purpose than hurting opponents intentionally.
I honestly don't care whether other US or Euro Pro teams use cheatmodes - someone elses cheating can never be used as an excuse to purposely do it yourself..... especially in an area where safety is involved.

If the Pro teams were REALLY that concerned with the gap between tournament ball and rec ball growing, and causing a decline in the industry, the first order of business should be to NOT use cheat modes (at least) - and the next to revert to true semi, so that the gap once again becomes smaller.
You and I watch the DVDs that come out these days with people getting shot to pieces - and think "cool".... but the average customer for those DVDs think "I'm NEVER setting foot on a tournament field - it will hurt too much"
I DO note that neither you nor Fred said that the Tontons do NOT use cheat modes - and I honestly think you should either say the Tontons do not - or not take part in the debate.
Anything else just makes it seem like the Tontons ARE using cheatmodes, and using other teams' poor morale, as an excuse for it.

there is some right things in what you said, actually the purpose of my message wasn t about the tonton guns but more about the big atmosphere of hate that is on the milleniums event, i agree it wasn t the subject as the begining , but that s what it has been turn to , and not by me , but by people being simply racist.And actually the real subject was about the rate of fire of the gun , not even the velocity ramping.that s why it is hard to qualifie the real subject of this thread.I m gonna try to answer point by point.
on the fact that dynasty jump from the plane ... if they do so that won t change my life so i won t follow, in the case we play on the field and that we sacrified our life for this sport, it does matter, exactly like in race car if you race a regular car against a formula one , even with talent that won t be ennought, but still i agree with you and of course playing over 300 is really dangerous.
You r totally right about the fact that the manufactures should turn down the speed of the gun, i work for kingman and it is a very big issue for us to make people enjoy the sport right now at least in the us some players will buy their own stuff and go play in a field even players who would have play 2 times in their lives , and then in the us you go on what we call the "walk on" field and their is no specific rule on the gun in this case those people would play with a spyder against players who play every weekend with timi or angel.... so you can guess after getting shot the all day... they just put their stuff in the back and never use their gun again... that s a big part of what kill the market today , but far from slowing down , most of the manufacture advertise for 30 shot per secound guns...
An another thing , the pic that there is of me full of hits... that wasn t against joy even if they took it for there promotion it was against Ducks in paris when i bunkered one of your guy at the X from the back center right at the break ... i got shot like 15 times... i didn t hurt me actually because i took a way more shot than that in my career but it could have really hurt some other player...I really think that the Ducks overshoot a lot at least when i play you ... but for me it is part of the game.
and to tell you about the tonton guns . fred play for the legion and i stopped playing for now because i work to much to be able to focus on the game, and i don t enjoy playing as much as i use to and part of it is the mentality in the sport.as you can guess when we left the tonton the relation ship get kinda bad beetween each other and we dont have that much contact with them anymore, i dont really know what the tonton are doing with their guns and i m in contact with laurent a lot but not really with the players, even laurent won t be able to tell you what s going on as he is to busy to take care of his team and the players are on their own. so we won t give you any answer on that one, but last time i watch them played it didn t give me the impression that there gun was shooting faster or harder than any other shocker.the main subject was the guns , but it brings a all different kind of subjects... one bring to another, so i m not sure that there is a real answer to bring , and i cannot talk for the tonton i don t play with them. but if you want to know the solution .. it exist, the NXL has it, we need the same radar... pretty simple it is just a question of money.
