It's not really a knee jerk 'FA is bad' thang, step out of your own world and see it from other the other perspectives.

For one thing, FA is illegal is pretty much all European countries. So if FA beacame a feature of top level tourney ball then it would create major legal minefields. We love ball over here and want the ability to play it at the top level.

It is just damn unsafe.... the whole issue over barrel socks not being able to take it is true. I've seen it myself, a faily new barrel sock gets ripped off with a second or two of fast FA.

Yes, yes, TJ we know you've been in the sport for yonks and you saw the change from pump to semi. And you can continue to be smug and if the change happens then you can be proud that your enchanced knowledge was right all along. It's a hot topic at the moment, but i really feel for a few reasons that FA SHOULD NOT happen. Then again, 'should' is quite a different thing to what 'might' happen

Admittedly I need a small golf cart to propel me around the field, but ya gotta keep up with the technology these days. :)

The assumption that faster/newer = better gameplay is flawed.

I just love this whole kneejerk 'FA bad' thang y'all have got...it's so quaint.:p
TJ - I don't necassarily disagree with you about FA just making the game different and perhaps even better.

However, how do you stand on the safety issues. Do you not forsee any safety issues with FA markers? Are you endorsing widespread use of FA for sites etc or just specific series e.g. NXL and NPPL?

the FA debate perhaps entices a greater reaction here in Great Britain and Europe as we have very strict rules on air weapons/paintball guns etc and many are worried that FA could finally tip the balance in terms of getting paintball banned.

Just interested in your further thoughts...?

EDIT: DOH! Broz beat me to it, above is pretty much the same thing he wrote...

You can drive a racecar round a track, but you can't then drive it home...

Most race car drivers don't own the car they drive around the track though...

Could probably work that way in the NXL or upper echelons of other pro series but it would never work that way for AM teams I don't think.
