Also.... really, what's so wrong about having a little "Help" any way? I mean, the old "Shocker Turbo" didn't allow you to accidentally let a rip of 30 balls come out of the gun unbidden. You still had to work for it a bit. I personally didn't see this as an issue... It wasn't like I could just stick my hand round a bunker, pull the trigger once and wave my gun around while the gun did all the work...
As long as this bending of the rules is abiding by the law layed out in the country you are playing, then what's the problem?
Perhaps make sure that the gun stops firing as soon as the finger is removed from the trigger, or as soon as the trigger stops moving (for safety reasons). Deal with people who break this rule severely.
I think judges need to be concentrating on games - not paying too much attention to bouncy guns. It's pretty obvious when a gun is going FA (ie, the trigger/fingers aint moving) - so just watch for that. Not guns where the odd extra shot is fired in between trigger pulls.
