Oooooh!! Dynasty FA Scandal!!

Out of interest... I don't seem to remember getting this kind of problem back in 2000, when the Angel LCD was still pretty new (ie, my LCD never bounced ONCE), but now I'm hearing stories from people saying that their guns tend to bounce regardless of modes...

I'm no techy, but has this anything to do with new trigger actuation methods? ie, magnets, as opposed to micro-switches?

Just a-wonderin'

i think that and the fact that people over adjust the triggers.. so that there isnt as much travel

Also.... really, what's so wrong about having a little "Help" any way? I mean, the old "Shocker Turbo" didn't allow you to accidentally let a rip of 30 balls come out of the gun unbidden. You still had to work for it a bit. I personally didn't see this as an issue... It wasn't like I could just stick my hand round a bunker, pull the trigger once and wave my gun around while the gun did all the work...

As long as this bending of the rules is abiding by the law layed out in the country you are playing, then what's the problem?

Perhaps make sure that the gun stops firing as soon as the finger is removed from the trigger, or as soon as the trigger stops moving (for safety reasons). Deal with people who break this rule severely.

I think judges need to be concentrating on games - not paying too much attention to bouncy guns. It's pretty obvious when a gun is going FA (ie, the trigger/fingers aint moving) - so just watch for that. Not guns where the odd extra shot is fired in between trigger pulls.

Just my opinion...

So... how the hell did the Turbo mode on the old Shocker 4x4 get passed for sale in the UK? I thought it bent the law somehow... something like every 3 shots, and an extra shot is released, or something... which didn't qualify as FA... Oh, I dunno...

HOTPOINT??? Get yo a$$ on here and settle this!!

You have to draw the line somewhere if for nothing else then to stop serious accidents from happening. Personaly I dont like the idea of using fullauto markers in any game format. As to bounce problem, Angel LCD/V6 had the same problem from the beginning. When our team used those we had to use a lot of time to get them 95% bounce free even when the gun was brand new out of the box.

@Steve Morris

Please make a whole new thread for that topic.
For a quick fix I would have on each field one ref that knows their job and apply an established TB test method to be used correctly and the same way on each field. After that its just to give penalties following the rules.

I can understand Dynasty having copies of the rules ready to hand - top teams play very close to the rules and could easily be penalised by a marshall who doesn't know the exact wording of a particular rule.

But should we accept people who are willing to flaunt the spirit of the rules while abiding to the letter of the law just to get a teeny edge in a game? Should we continue to accept that there is a grey area in the sport and brand anyone who complains about it as no-game-whingers.....or should we get medieval and introduce draconian penalties for infringements (which actually get enforced!) and scare everyone so much that people triple check before each tournament that their marker isn't even gonna thing about bouncing?

No, it will simply emphasize different skillz: True quick trigger fingers - which, IMHO is tha ****ing dullest skill in pball by about 476,000 miles - will be unimportant, but other, more exciting skills will be enhanced by the greater volume of paint.

Oooh, I can shoot my gun fast. Whoppie-****ing-doo.

Oooh, I can still make a searing bunker run and do it clean despite having 3 FA guns on me cos I am that fast and my timing is that good - now that's skill
