One chrono procedure, for ALL fields please. No exceptions. Please Steve, i know you'll read this.
At Maxs the new reffing system was initiated with pro head field judges supervising teams judging for series points and prizes at the end of the season for the teams considered to have done the best job. We will also have at least one pro judging crew at every event.

I think the judging and overall quality of the tournament was great, especially considering it was the first with the pro judges.

I regret that we didn't have our marker-scrutiny procedures worked out from the beginning. We got tighter in the uniformity of things field to field and eventually came up with the most reasonble gun check procedure under the circumstances.

The guy who was so good at catching bounce wasn't sacked; we simply let another component scrutineer take over. We let several different, very competent scrutineers test guns at different times.

The guy with the magic fingers was able to get most of the markers to bounce at least a little and he caught some that were blazing too. Since almost any electro can be made to bounce given enough time to find the spot, I decided to continue with the Millennium trigger test with a different person and focus more on the blazing turbo stuff and clearly illegal things that could give a player a real advantage during games. Even if they didn't induce as much bouncing as the other guy they still caught some others that needed adjusting.

We will make the rules clearer and we will have our procedures right from the start at the next tournament.

I would certainly like to hear any suggestions on how we can begin to get better control of this in our rules and procedures.

1--Baca paraphrase--"I just removed him in the middle of the semis with both Pro teams squealing like stuck pigs but in no way was he sacked."
2--he was so good the other guys needed the practice.
3--so was Wunderfingerkind laboring over the markers working like a mad scientist to find fault? This statement sounds more like an excuse than anything else.
4--remove the guy who found everything cus you wanted to focus on the worst offenses. Good plan. And hey, like you say, a little bounce isn't a big deal.

Any ideas on how the Mil will arrange to allow just a little okay bounce? Maybe we can have sometimes okay orange jerseys, too, and once in awhile see thru hoppers.

Agreed . Trigger bounce requires some effort or preparation before the game, whereas wiping requires no preparation and can be a spur of the moment thing. The response to both cases should be similar - apply the correct penalty, whether it's a 1-4-1, 3-4-1 or ejection.

I look at trigger bounce in much the same way as corked bats in baseball. The player has made a choice to push the rules. If he gets caught, he gets punished - end of story. Unfortunately, this doesn't happen in most tournaments. The worst that happens is he's not allowed on the field if he's caught.

I've kinda lost interest in the whole trigger bounce debate, because I only see two solutions:

1. Promoters sack up and start enforcing the bounce rules, including tossing players with really bouncy guns, or
2. Allow FA markers in tournaments (the idea of which I hate)

Do you really think a promoter is going to toss Dynasty, or Ton-Tons or any top level team? Neither do I :( so we'll keep on this merry-go-round until someone gets hurt, or someone comes up with a new cheat.

I thought the NPPL had some kind of Robot. Must have cost them a few bucks, so at least they are doing something.
The bit I really don't like is the nepotism envolved. It stinks, and in business it would be called corruption, a nasty word indeed.

I am sick of people putting forward idea's to make the game fairer, and making all the noises, and then going to an event and squealing like pussies as soon as the new rules apply to them, and them, or thier team might actually get penalised. It is hypocritical in the extreme!
You know the rules before you enter the event (at least you should) so where is the argument? Where does the lee-way come from?

anyone......?

$2500 for a robot that can operate a laptop?
Wow, I have trouble with laptops and I'm out of college, and value my life Waaaaaay higher than that. The NPPL got a major bargain there. What else can he do?

I'm not saying some mistakes weren't made but there was no attempt to back away from the 1-pull, 1-shot rule. There was no way I was going to allow blazing guns on the field before or during a game. You heard what happened to the Tontons player (banned) and in the earlier Dynasty game with the 0 - 100.

I will probably be known as the rules-Hitler from hell at the same time as being known as the guy who let bouncy guns on the field. The main thing is, we need to improve the rules and our procedures and we have to redouble our efforts to maintain total consistency in our routines. We need to be able to filter out some gun cheating while letting legitimate guns by even if there are some people in the world who can make them bounce.

I would really try to turn this (yeah I'm diverting) into a discussion of what is reasonable for the tournaments to come. The rules are undergoing revision.

Baca, I know you must have some ideas. And IntheNO seems to have some gun expertise. Enlighten us.
