Dunc.
hi Dunc (how ya doin?)

i can understand why some (Bolter being a good example!) that can exceed the 15bps regularly are a little peeved, but surely you must see that it will reduce the massive advantage a big fat slow muppett can have over you with his (or her) machine gun! now we can start unleashing new skillz, faster movement, reloading skillz (cos most are gonna need to load more often than they have ever been used to!) faster snap shootin skills, etc....

also for anyone who watched the Open XBall at Campaign, the top lads who came over the pond from Trauma had their DM4's on stock settings, and were seriously slow compaired to the rest of our guns (except when they played Philly!:D) but they still smashed all before them! thats skill not firepower!

Show me the insurance certificate for using full-auto paintball guns at an event.
you guys think an event without liability insurance is a good idea?
First person to get hurt would either put the promotors out of business or would just simply not be covered. Medical bills on an eye injury or even a break could easily run to tens of thousands. There were several near misses with eye injuries last season and several breaks. Don't mention waivers, they mean nothing 9in court.
Playing an event with no liability insurance is dumb
Organising an event with no liability insurance is suicidal (not to mention illegal).

Show me the certificate and the argument goes away. With no certificate, no other argument is needed.

I rest my case, put yer poll up and keep talking bollox.

Are you just stupid or have you just stumbled on this thread and read what you wanted there.
Nobody is suggesting full auto at all.
Nobody is suggesting that we would run any event without insurance, and if you looked at the other thread about this you would see a post I put up about the home office permission will not mean we can do it. The final word would and is down to the insurance companys.
And if you think all the organisers in the UK have insurance you would be wrong.
that is not a legal requirment as such and it is up to the players to ask the event they are going to pay their money to.
And is the NXL not insured then.
That may come as a shock to some.

Over to you.

I forgot to say that as far as I knew insurance companys look at the possible risks involved.
An NXL marker is capped at 15 bps the open Xball markers are "true" semi, I have seen them both first hand, and any insurance company would prefer the risk of NXL to the uncapped ramping that they get away with in the Open X-ball.

Russ,
No, I'm not stupid.
Call the NXL and ask them for a copy of thier insurance.
To try to enforce Semi-auto only is to try to stay within insurance stipulations and ASTM standards.
To allow ramping is to willfully ignore them, which is insupportable in law.

I am talking about the US, and from an NPPL/PSP perspective. I don't know the rules that apply near the tea-van you are based at.
I am not even stating my opinion, just what the law is. There's no point saying that you are sure what insurance companies would prefer. If its not legal, they won't do it. You can stamp your feet all you like.
I have dealt with insurance companies on this very issue, in fact I have dealt with them on behalf of UK fields on similar issues too. I ran a UK field for over 12 years, with insurance. I supplied them for 10 years too. And without wanting to sound cocky, I have probably forgotten more about running a successful paintball field in the UK than you know.
The Open Xball cannot be 'true semi' and 'ramping' at the same time. They are true semi, or they are outside of the rules. This is at least some protection for the organisers in that they have a rule against it and employ staff and technology to prevent it. To make it part of the rules is a totally different situation.
do some research yourself if you still believe I'm stupid

Wow, now I remember why I quit posting on here....

I'm off, xxxx xx xxxx its Blackpool rock
