Alex Lundqvist banned from playing EXL

It is a kind of protectionism.

The fact of the matter is, there would be a strong tendency for Americans to dominate in EXL if we didn't make it an exclusive club. I think it makes sense in the short-term and in a few years it won't matter so we could make it more open later. I think just from a marketing standpoint it would be easy to understand Euro sports fans not getting behind Stockholm Dynasty (I could be wrong). Unless, of course, the San Diego boys decided to change their residency (and they are more than welcome).

I'm glad that there are other leagues that are more open, but this is right for EXL right now IMHO.

I can see what you're saying Steve, but realistically I don't think it would happen...high calibre players are so tied into their gun, paint and gear contracts nowadays that guesting on a top level team to top level team basis is almost extinct now anyway.

Christ, even Am contracts now are hugely restrictive - if any of my team gets seen with the wrong sticker on a pot at practice or T-shirt in a nightclub we're in breach of contract...

Totally agree with that Duff

Its sounds a little bit like cracking a nut with a sledge hammer.

Also securing your rosta by 7 July sounds a little bit too draconian too.

I'd modify it to say that past July if you've played on an EXL team then you cant transfer. Getting others in after that date should be allowed.

I mean - teams have fall outs and it would be a shame to see a team implode and then have to turn out for the next leg with the captain and the pot bitch!!

Leagues won't be on par as long as we are playing double elimination and not a system that gives some teams more than 2 games a tournament

The problem as I see it is that EXL or whoever wrote a rule that is directed only to Alex Lundqvist. As it is evident for you now when the entire rule about rooster was posted by Steve Morris.

1. European only
2. No NXL players

Who in NXL pass rule number 1?

Thats why im pissed, having people writing rules against one of us. Beacuse Alex is. But I heard all arguments why we should keep him out, and I accept the majority vote.
As for allowing non european.
We could field a entire ex Ironmen line as they would love to play with us again. but thats not what this is about for us anyway...

From everything I understand, Open X Ball lives up to its name. It is open to anybody and everybody who is legally alllowed to play.

It is just funny that NXL has no problem with me playing EXL.

I understand the argument that you cant play in the same leage in two teams.

But howcome NXL has no problem with me playing in the EXL with Joy.

Is it really the same leage?
