Nick.

To answer your question. Beacuse they love to play ball. Just like you played with different teams when you didnt have a fixed team.
Whenever clubs and leagues start to PAY there players then and only then should they have the right to tell them where to play and not.

Baco. your 100% right

Mag, the fact that Baca is right doesn't make the principle of Alex being refused to play wrong.
It isn't right that Alex plays for a few reasons not least of which is the principle that all players contesting throughout the season should be eligible to play in the finals in Orlando.

Let's face it Mag, me and you ain't getting involved in all this EXL because of what's going on in Europe, it's the lure of Yank TV that legitimises this venture for both our teams.
Without the promise of the final in Orlando, and it's subsequent televising, I for one, would be reluctant to commit Nexus to a purely European XBall (with no televisation).
That said, then I think it right and proper that we have a roster that is intact up until the final games are played out with those potentially being in Orlando.
You can't have players precluded from playing in Orlando because they are NXL'ers but also be playing for you up until then and could ironically also be playing against you, it makes no sense mate !
Peace

Lemme see if I got this straight then--and please, if not somebody feel free to correct me. And no, this ain't got nothing to do with Alex's situation. He knows the rules and he's free to do whatever he wants.

Just to clarify--what I meant was that the conditions imposed on NXL players aren't secret until after you're on board. If you choose to play in the NXL you choose to accept those conditions. If Alex is not under some formal contractual obligation he can leave anytime he wants.
Pete, Nick and the others are also correct in suggesting that in a closed competitive league you can't have players hopping willy-nilly between teams. In the Extreme (clever bit that, wasn't it?:D ) it makes a mockery of the competition and results.

Let me clarify to

Baco asked.

"Could it possibly be that the whole EXL dealio was just a pot sweetener for Dick Clark, a way to cut off an MS/NPPL alliance and give the NXL kids some Euro trip candy to keep 'em happy another season? In which case nobody important really cares what the EXL does one way or the other."

Thats what I agreed on.

Nick lets just disagree.

Pete ,see you at HB.

I just got off the phone with both Philly and Detroit. They said you are welcome to field all their Danes.

You can thank me later. ;)

We keep going around in circles here.

Magued won't let this go - all he sees is that Alex is Swedish, he used to play for Joy and wants to play for NYX and Joy.

My heart says, hell why not? Its not like anyone is paid is it? We do it for fun don't we? It's our hobby isn't it?

BUT most of us seem to be able to disconnect our hearts and let our heads rule - it's just not right and we all have a responsibility to ensure that what is FAIR is seen to be upheld.

He's playing for an NXL franchise and therefore cannot play for an EXL one as they are both in the same competition.

Until he leaves NYX that is and signs for Joy!!!

But thats probably not in his best interests is it?

Noop - it doesnt matter if they had 12 Danes playing for them and 5 of them were Nicks brothers

The statement stands

It doesnt matter what nationality, it doesnt matter what teams they played on before, it doesnt matter what teams they might want to play for in the future.

What matters is the team they play on NOW!!

And playing for an NXL team precludes anyone from playing on an EXL team.

Otherwise (here we go again) Nick may plunge his very short arms into his incredibly long pockets and pay for 4 or 5 NXLers to come play for the Dux over the season just so he gets to go to Disney in October, regardless of the squad he'd have when he got there and they were all back playing for the Assassins or Effect or whoever.

We've seen both Dux and Joy do this in the past ironically - but now the rules are there protecting everyone from loans upsetting the applecart.
