A lot to hit here.

I said that up until now you have not really shown a big interest in the tournament - other than telling us all how terrible it is - how egotistical the players are etc.
My intrest is not being turned from a paintball player into a spectator becasue I'm not in the loop.

That and once again what people think they know about me is not what the truth is. Well, everyone needs a scapegoat.

4) Again read what I wrote was your team treated different from the other non-x-ballers?
Oh, then I mis-read it. No, I guess not. I read the question as being treated diffrently than the x-ball players.

P.S. For someone who has never really shown any interest in tournies - you sure can bitch like the rest of us "cursed tournament elitist scum"
My intrest, and my reasons, are my own.

This 'loop' as you call it, is a group of individuals who represent the industry and the pro players.
BINGO!!!!

Thank you Pete, for proving my point.

You are not precluded from this group because of who you are, you are precluded because you just haven't made the grade as a paintballer.
All that bull**** about you not being eligible is just that, bull**** !!
I'm just stating the facts. Look, YOU were the only captain to hold open tryouts, and I can respect you for that. Hell, I think that all the countries shuld have done that. But the US squad was a closed affair.

I kinda get the idea that Diogenes may have looked at you with his lamp and found the only honest man in paintball. For a guy in the industry you're so innocent.

If you had the skills, believe me, any captain would pick you up in a heartbeat...
It is you who estrange yourself from the loop because of your views and how you present them...
Alternatively, if you really believe, you got what it takes as player, then ask any of the top pro captains for a try out...
Then we'll all know what you can do!!!
Next time I go home I'll go find my proof that I could have played on Aftershock. I was going to college in Minnesota at the time, and I was at home for vacation. A team player asked me to play on his team. The team was "Windy City Hitmen". They were absorbed into Aftershock a year later.

But if it'll make you feel better, check your mail.

In the meantime, I am gonna call Jerry Braun up and get him to answer your accusations of conspiracy amongst Richmond, Gino, Jerry, Bob and the rest.
...
I will tell you one thing, if and when Jerry answers, you can bet your soul that he will be telling the truth because whilst you may not agree with everything he does, his job as an attorney and his position within the industry predisposes him to telling the whole truth when he comes on boards like this.
Umm... if you believe that all I will get is the truth from an American lawyer then you've got a lot to learn about America. I know a LOT of lawyers that are not above lying, omiting truth, or otherwise manipulating facts to make 12 people believe their version of the truth.

c : As to your littany of facts, been there, said that a long time ago. I told you to ask Robo. The difference is in how we view those "facts." You need to take a longer view.

d : As to your "outsiders" being relegated to spectator status if you expect to be playing X-Ball Robo is ready to help you out. Step up.
a : Obviously, you're not a Bruce Campbel fan. See Army of Darkness.

b : No, it's in the team charter. "PPIG"'s goal is to promote pump play. We have done that by showing up to events and playing.

c : Show me the thread.

d : See my reply to him.

Ok, to everyone now.

If you're more than happy being told what to do, and being paintall sheep, go ahead. (There's your sheep Delta.) I'm not happy with watching from the sidelines. I already stepped up, played the format, liked it, and reported about it in PGI. If you want to believe that I'm just a rec-baller who doens' tknow jack ****, fine.

But in 5 years, if things go as they are now, I'll be telling you all that I was right. But, hell, nobody believes me in the here and now. Nobody ever has.

Okay, enough of the bickering. Let's move on to something interesting.
Tyger, you were there, you played the 7 man format. This may have been snowed under because of the X-ball thing, but a while ago people were guessing that the 7 man at IAO was to try out the format in the US, in order to get a single system in both Europe and the US. So my question to you, and all others who played there is: How was the 7 man format received?

Actually, it was taken pretty well. They crammed us into the 5 man fields, and there was a few places where two people were making love to the same bunker, but it was recieeved very well. It wasn't too much unlike 5 man, just two more guys to get on the field.

My needs are simple. I need to play paintball.

If someone comes along (step up Richmond...) and sorts out all the **** that needs sorting out in order to provide bigger, better, faster, harder paintball which makes playing the game and watching the game far more exciting, then I'm all for it. It took a hell of a lot of balls (no pun intended...honest..) to even attempt to put this tourney on, and I think all involved deserve nothing but respect for what will ultimately change modern tourney paintball forever.

I mean, it's the same game!! It's just turning paintball into a "proper" sport!!! Simple!

I'm looking forward to trying it out one day, and the sooner the better. Nothing would please me more than to go along to an X-ball tourney in the local "Paintball Stadium" with a group of mates, and then head off to the pub afterwards to talk about the game.

Tyger, you make me laugh dude....

1--when you're running around the woods in Wisconsin or Minnesota and some NPPL AC is being played are you out of that loop, too?
Are you outta the snowboarding loop cus you ain't in the winter X-games?
Answer to both: No
A--seen it two or three times. I'm just not so anally-retentive I memorize the dialogue. Can you do episodes of Brisco County, jr. too?
B--sure.
C--use search and re-order threads by largest number of views or posts. First one up will be the Jerry Braun thread. Enjoy.
D--try living in the present.
2--No, apparently you prefer the deadbox.

Ahh, I see, you have no leg to stand on so you switch to insulting me. Good debate technique, trying to draw a viceral response to bring your opponent DOWN to your level. VERY nice Baca.

1 : Snowboarding is not a team sport, it's an INDIVIDUAL sport, so your example doesn't apply. And Lemme see, an NPPL AC? I wasn't aware we were talking about hte NPPL. More diversionaly debating tactics, VERY nice try. Go bang out the erasers.

a : No

c : Not worth my time, you brought it up, yo do your own homework.

d : Try living in the future sometime. I swear, paintball players are so blind to the "10 year plan" mentality it's disgusting.

2 : VERY mature. Yeah. So tell me how you did, Baca? I didn't catch your team's standings...

So what's your angle Baca? What do you have to gain by shutting me up or insulting / belittling / discrediting me?

Making love to the same bunker.... Ah! A threesome! Was it a spitroast, or more like a sandwich position? :D

Okay, so the seven man format was well received. But do you reckon that was because of it's 'novelty' value, or do you think there's an actual place fo this format in large events Stateside? In other words, do you think we'll see other (NPPL) events introducing this format too?

Oh, and Tyger, Baca? *Yawn* Give it a rest. I bet you're the only ones still reading this. :p

Bud, fields were fine. There were a few complaints but they played great, hard and fast. Only bunker we ever doubled were a couple of snakes.

Seven played well but virtually none of the NPPL circuit teams was there from any division so I don't think there's any real way to judge how a change might be received. Also think it's totally irrelevant with the intro of X-Ball.

And dutiful moderators. ;)

I already wound you up and yes, it was entertaining but that wasn't the point. The point continues to revolve around your Chicken Little whimperings and X-Ball and you continue to insist the sky is falling but the only head it's falling on is yours.
1--we were talking about playing paintball/being reduced to spectators. They will be playing paintball at AC next week. Here in FL they will be playing a couple of big statewide events in September despite the fact there now exists an X-Ball and no doubt will be doing so for the foreseeable future.
OK, let's try a basketball analogy. Just cus not everyone is paid to play in the NBA doesn't mean the rest of the world is relegated to being spectators. We can go out and play pick-up or join local leagues or whatever and play the game all we want. Same with paintball in a professional future.
C--You said "show me the thread." There it is. I was merely supporting the "fact" that I've been all over your issue and offered the proof if you cared to check it out. You don't, that's fine.
2--OK, that was harsh--but funny. I'm not trying to shut you up. Don't see how I could. :) I am pricking your pomposity a bit and enjoying the result and I'm trying to argue the more incredulous points you've made recently if only because you're treating all this like the Word of Tyger is not to be challenged, only gratefully accepted.
As I suggested before, lighten up.
BTW, we finished 8th. Respectable but not good enough.

a : I'm still right, even if you think I'm just a stupid rec-player I'm STILL right.

1 : A point htat you wandered off of, and started making personal.

1.1 : Nice try, there's a way that anyone can work up to be in the NBA. As I see it, with the exception of england, I can't do that in the states. They've just alieneated me, and the other 95% of us.

c : Burden of proof is on the person who makes the claim, not on the person you're trying to convince.

2 : Bull****. Plain and simple, BULL****.

3 : So, you finished 8th. You spent more money, got more pissed off, and wasted your time JUST as muchas I did, and walked away with pretty much the same as I did. No prizes, and you didn't win. Hey, since you dind't win either you must be a second class citizen too!

AND, I'm STILL right.
