It will have the best teams in Europe (bar one) competing, and will be a paintball spectacle. If people want to be cynical, and pick out the negative aspects of the format, then they can do so. I doubt that many of the top teams that are paying the new EXL will have their enthusiasm for it dampened by people saying it wil be rubbish.:)
my you do have your agreesive head on today Sam! the descussion was in line with Nicks points about the playing schedule, and you still had to have a dig! grow up man! i have merely made a view that having double Elimination with 10 teams will 'in my opinion' be too many byes!

chill fella;)

AFAIK Toulouse and Germany will be 7man Superleague Pro events, and will have no Xball.

The other events were (in no particluar order):

Norway
Spain Twice
Camp Masters

Gaff, wasnt having a dig, am not feeling at all aggressive, and am highly chilled :)

Double Elimination

Number of Matches: 2 times the number of teams minus 2 (2x-2)

No matter what number of teams you pick, you will only have byes for the first round and the second round in the loser's bracket if the schedule is done correctly.

Arguing that Millenium rankings should have been used is the same as arguing that Nexus shouldn't be playing. That's a pretty tough argument, and isn't any more valid than any other argument as they all just work for whichever teams' interests they happen to work for. Sicne this is being done after-the-fact, no matter what system, or lack of system, is chosen for picking the teams, it's arbitrary all around, and nobody is going to arbitrarily not pick Nexus as one of the 8.

If a team is not currently in the 8, the question is not 'What system would have got them in the 8?" but "What team in the top 8 are they better than?" If there isn't a team that made it that's worse than you, you shouldn't be in the top 8 - taking issue with the selection process seems a bit self-serving if the end result was correct.

If you think you're better than at least one of the teams in the top 8, well, that's different, but in that case I challenge you to say which one. :)

Agreed, and at a push i'd say that we should only have one, purely to legitamise the series as European.

Although Americans are used to having "world" series that are played exclusively within the US for TV so perhaps it isn't such a big deal for Dick Clark

This isnt done yet!

I havent got any information about the details for the EXL yet.
So Joy havent said yes to anything yet. The only one I have talked to the past days are Robbo. Havent been able to reach Niall or Laurent.
We will need information about witch events are schedueled for EXL. As this will be a huge part of our decision.

But the biggest problem right now is for us Hardcore. We can not see by any way 3 english teams on the top 8 in Europe.
Its pure BS!
Taking in account that hardcore have supported the MS along time, reffed and also this year reinforce the team with world class players from NBK it would be a joke to leave them aside.

Dont forget that hardcore provided the Swedish Nations cup team with 3 players and the Norwiegan team with 5 players. Both thoose teams destroyed the English x-ball team!
So this have to be solved or we would have to think really hard on not playing EXL and leave another spot empty, maybe Storm? so we could have 4 English teams???

I think it's tme for someone with some decision making power to step in here and let everyone know what will exactly go on. Full stop.

Does anyone want to play EXL or does everyone just wanna bitch and talk about it? I think Hardcore have the best arguement, at least they seem to be genuinely interested in playing the format.

Lets not kill it before it even starts.

No, that would not be the correct way to do the schedule.

Draw out and seed a regular 16-team schedule, only put byes in for teams 11-16. Thus only the 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th seeds play the first round, with the losers going into the losers bracket, and the winners essentially becoming an 8-team double elimination bracket and the first round of the loser's bracket being skipped. It's not nearly the big deal you're making it out to be, except that the bottom four seeds have to play one more match to win than the top 6 seeded teams.

I would also agree that locking the series into a configuration where 3 of the teams are British and none German for the long-term is a bad idea, but as long as it can be restructured down the line, shouldn't be a major consideration right now.
