Peace
Hey, I'm just the guy that every bar seems to have, that stops fights from starting by getting people that had too much to drink to go home.
So yeah, I think I capiche........:D

I bet he's letting a Huge sigh of relief out as we speak, phew some 'all talk yank' is putting the whoop ass in the chiller :eek::p:D

Seriously though, Mr Big put his post up which he knew was going to get a reaction, yeah Lathams was a very 'knee jerk' responce however a lot of us feel very strongly about our game.

Not really a justification but certainly an explanation.
Also the lads at K2 spend alot of time helping out other Teams in the lower divisions (Pimps, FusuinUK to name a couple) with training and advice etc, they're some of the 'good guys' in this sport!

As I said not a justification.............

IMHO it still mainly comes down to the money & time factors. I'm very lucky in that I can indulge myself by going off for the weekend frequently, but most people can't afford the petrol let alone Travel Lodge costs every month and be able to play at the same time. I also don't have the time committments that many players have, as I only work during the week & don't have a family at home to fit round.
Add to this the fact that kit & stuff costs more in pounds here than it does in dollars in the USA & it works out a very, very expensive sport to play and train for.
Out there we have many students surviving on part-time (usually weekend) jobs & others on low incomes that can't afford to spend £50-£60 just on petrol alone to go to a decent tourney, plus game fee & paint bill.

I read somewhere that there are 4 million plus ballers in the good old U S of A which is probably like 1000 yanks to 1 brit paintballer, so with that wealth of talent to choose from i should hope that those players making it to the top are damn good. Couple that with the fact that the top pro teams are almost completely sponsored (paint, equipment, flights, burgers & ho's ;) ) so they can afford to play every week and every tourney and really you can see why they should be winning everything (which they dont) plus you lucky buggers across the pond get better playing weather than us! Hardly fair! :D
In the face of adversity us brits are battling on - people like Steve Bull, John Payne and JCS/Diablo & Smartparts seem keen to help and promote the sport over here, and some of us have the dedication, so once the funding rolls into place we should start giving you guys a run for your money - we'll certainly keep trying :p
