Quoted for the truth. There is so much political bollocks and personal agendas going on in the sport now it's no wonder so many are hanging up their guns, peeps are tired of all this bull**** now.
So Cro, please enlighten us all as to exactly how political shennanigans and personal animosities impact upon those ballers who decide to throw it all in.
I mean, do I go around their house and steal the money they would otherwise use for playing?
Does the existence of this thread somehow undermine people's resolve to go and enjoy theirselves at weekends?
Or is it more likely, the cost of the sport might be the determinant factor and you are just making this sh!t up?
Come on Cro, I'm really interested to know and understand the mechanisms at work here.

I mean, you are always Cro'wing on about things, how comes you are still here if it's that bad?

I can't speak for cro pete, but as far as politics putting players off...... At least im my case, what fecks me off a lot of the time is the politics within teams, split loyalties and pathetic in fighting.

I love playing, i love training but the pathetic self intrested attitude of a lot of UK ballers hacks me off, this whole debacle with the tournament series' is enough to put a lot of those with restriced world views off the sport.

On the other side of the coin, the US tourney circuits don't exactly all play happy familys.. The reason why it is able to maintain itself might be beacuse there is a steady influx of new, young players who are mostly hungry for success and becoming better players. The majority of UK ballers are older, fatter and a lot more cynical.......

PS. That prob don't make to much sense, meh

Broz, in any sport, as in life, politics will surface to some degree, in this sense, politics is just another word for human self-interest.

Now you if you are not involved in the 'politics' directly, you have an easy choice, you can either ignore it, as most people do or you can moan about it but I fail to see how politics itself can negatively affect people who are not involved to the degree cro suggests.
There are other much more signgificant effects going on that will account for people leaving our sport as cro well knows but it suits him to say what he says at this time.

There are a lot more politics going on Stateside and yet they ahve seen sustained growth to well past the 12 million mark which tends to suggest the notion of politics having little to no effect on numbers of players.
Nah, the answer's simple, if you don't like it, or you don't wanna get involved, just ignore it, it's a strategy that is alarminlgy effective :)

Oh and Broz, one last thing, you are still playing mate :)

How???? It pisses people off, when they have to pay as much as they do to play then have to deal with all the **** that has been going on, especially over this season, then they understandably start to wonder why they bother.

Not even going to bother with that ridiculous statement.

Yes it does, these types of petty childish arguments just add to the frustration that some people are already feeling....and acting upon.

Making this **** up???? No. Maybe you should try listening to some of the players who you obviously think are beneath you. Now cost is a factor, why should the average baller have to pay so much money to play a sport they love, only to get entabgled in political bollocks, whether it be within their team or in the sport in general? Yes there is polotics and personal agendas whatever sport you play but, in my experience through playing quite a variety of sports, paintball is becoming a complete farce in this country because of a few ego maniacs and those who just want to line their own pockets.

Again with the play ground taunts  Geez you're such a hero....sorry leg end. So how come I'm still here? Well I'm currently on a year off playing due to circumstances forced upon me, I am traing to get into a new career path and it's going to take a lot longer than this one year but I needed to make time. However during this year I have seen this sport get so tangled up in the nonsense as detailed above, and am seeing quite a lot of people leaving for just those reasons, that I am now seriously considering whether I want to start playing again or not. This last year for me has been really difficult, because I have been so desperate to get back on the field that to see all this **** going off is really disapointing.

Don't forget Robbo that you have a vested interest in this sport, most players do not. What you see as part of the sport, most players do not. Day to day polotics and your little conflict of personalities with Hatts is important to you, to most other players it is not....although I will admit that it is quite funny usually.

Not trying to be difficult here, but why? I fail to see how Joe Baller can be affected unless they choose to be: pick a series, or many series, or one-off events, or whatever, and play what you want to play.

I don't see why anyone who didn't want to get involved in the politics would have to get involved, so I don't see why any of these arguments would affect them in the slightest.
