OK then. People claiming to be the best etc.... when they can't prove it.
Can we have a list of the best marker, barrel, air, paint, tourney etc..... to save us from making out minds up please? That would be great. I'll also trust that in response, no advertising using false superlatives will be accepted on websites or in magazines run by those who are going to decide this. It would be a big help.

I'll stick to making my own decisions, and as I haven't played (or in fact visited) every tourny in the country I won't presume to pass comment on which is the best. I will instead listen to those who have in fact taken part in all of them, and therefore are making a well informed, ballanced assessment. As I'm sure everyone who's expressing an opinion has.

Fling ****, you just get smelly hands :)

Can anyone else hear that?

Sounds like an axe-y sort of grinding noise............

First up for the 'prove it' police, a certain company claims to be the leader in paintball innovation, technology and design.......sounds like a big claim, you going to let them get away with that? I think we need to see evidence.
Oh, and which is the 'most advanced paintball marker in the world'? As someone's claiming that too.

Jose, if u had read the posts properly, or at least my posts, you would have seen, I ain't saying anybody's the best, I am merely saying who cannot lay a legitimate claim to being the best, so instead of concocting some not-so smart-ass rhetoric like you did in that last post, read the posts properly and then re-enter the thread a little more informed......

And in any case, your post was so wide of the mark in trying to introduce some ironic sarcasm, it was embarrassing......

If you are gonna try and be a smart ass, at least have the irony nailed into some workable form whereby it's relevant.

I think the main thing here is the difference between domestic and internation teams/leagues.

To Nexus/Shockwave/etc, the PA is irrelevant, just another little domestic league.

To me, as a domestic paintballer, Nexus, Shockwave, etc are irrelevant, just another team playing (sorry, competing ;) ) thousands of miles away in some US series. Hell, even the Russians are frmo Boston these days...

To the vast majority of paintballers in this country, we're all irrelevant, they're happy running around in the woods on their stag do's and office bonding sessions.

Why can't we all go back and play nicely in our own little bubbles, and not worry about the bigger picture? ;)

i imagine that someone has already said this but i can't be bov'd to read 8 pages of s hit.

surely the best team in the uk is the one that will win pro tour. it has the top 8 teams in the league. they are all competing against one another. surely they should be crowned national champions?

manc union is hardly a team, fantastic players tho they are, they are more of a scratch team playin in a whole series. a couple from shock, couple more from the kelly's. etc etc.

to anyone that thinks that the top 5 from P.A. would beat top 5 in any other domestic leages, you need to see the pro tour.

if manc union are the best team in the uk then why arent they winnin the pro tour as well?

Shockwave
Tigers
Nexus
kellys
phoenix

i dont even know who the top 5 in P.A. are, probably some unknowns?

anyway, campaign are the best team in the uk so there

I think that you have hit the nail very squarley on the head, when you pointed out that the world according to Hatts is all that matters to Hatts, and he could never really ever be wrong could he!

After all less than 12 months ago the PA claimed it was setting up shop at Rodbaston, in the heart of the country, so that the venue was accessible to all teams!

Where is it now......Ancaster.

Why have so many teams dropped out of the PA. if it's so good.
You should know all to well yourself about teams dropping out of series......
 *cough*central 7's*cough*

I'm not so sure this thread is going anywhere now but it has I think established the notion that the better the circuit in terms of quality of teams will be the best indicator as to who exactly is the best and to that end, the Millennium and the NPPL provide those environments.
The PA falls well short of matching that crtieria I'm afraid, well short.

Any other discussion isn't really relevant other than to draw that distinction between national and international teams but even then, it's still a grey area with overlaps etc.

I got a call last night from Russell Smith and if he would like to come on these boards and say what he told me last night then it may go some way to explain why this thread even started.

To be honest, I am getting pretty sick and tired of people telling me one thing in confidence and not willing to go public with it at my expense.
I won't break Russell's confidence because he asked me to keep what he told me to myself but I would ask him to come on here and publicly state what he told me.....

So Russell, over to you mate.........enlighten us all as to why that initial post was made, it would be the right and proper thing to do....

This thread deff. stands for:

Love is in the air...dudududu..Love is in the air!!! :D

We can go on for ever. There will be no verdict on who is right and who is wrong.

Hatts basic idea :GOOD

Robbo has made some important statements. Yes, you can sense that Mr Hatton is not on his X-mas card list, but that does not smaller the fact that most of us do see it the same way.

Btw...if the position for saviour is still open...where do I apply! Does it come with a free powertrip and ego boost? :D

Just let time show what will happen. I am pretty sure the people that matter in this country in regards to paintball will come up with the solution.

Me and Piper? We're far too busy playing scissors-paper-stone to worry about such trivialities...

May I ask why?

I've played MM S2K and the PA and personally feel it is the most structured and organised series in the UK.
I'd say it turned out pretty well, the team that wins the division is the better team overall. If someone were to ask me why Wolves and The clan were promoted and Lincoln (3rd;)) weren't it's easy, they played more consistantly/better then us.
The league will take a few years for the divisions to settle but there aint anyone who plays it that doesn't know that.
The biggest problem the league has IMO is a lot of the teams aren't ready for the dedication and approach that is required.

Just my 2p's worth.
