Promotion my dear friend, I have been on the UK Paintball scene now for 9 years, I have made alot of friends. Can't talk for everyone else but my Team consist of players from 4 different paintball companies(Sites) in Scotland, all it takes is a flyer....anything, word of mouth, look, anything is better than nothing. I have friends(well I hope so) in Planet, PMI, NPS, LiPS, PGI, WDP, Just Paintball, PA, PBUK, Manic, Pheonix to name well all of them cos I'm on my 8th can of beer and can't remember anymore. We have to try Raffles, if we don't, then what have we learned? My Dad told me once that you have to have dreams in life, without them, whats the point of life?Raffles said:And you get people to go to this website how?
Raffles said:Oh dear.
What started out as a sensible topic seems to have now gone the way of all other sensible topics - degraded in to personal insults .
And you wonder why nobody take us seriously...
Time for that 'closed' button I think.
Punters at rec sites that have a walk on scene to start with. A lot of site owners do like walk on customers because there are a lot less overheads (nothing to clean, no markers to maintain)Raffles said:Now that is a plan. But (and it's a big one) - who do you give these 'booklets' to? Random people in the street? Punters at rec sites (without annoying site owners)?
Random people will mostly bin them.
Not trying to put your plan down - just trying to expand on it so it has maximum impact.
But what about the people that dont even know Walk On's exist? I didnt until I got chatting to one of the marshalls at my local site that was an ex-tourney player. And now I can't get enough of Sup Air.Sid_Clan said:Promotion my dear friend, I have been on the UK Paintball scene now for 9 years, I have made alot of friends. So, in between running a site, a team, my family of 5 kids I'll take this and run with it.
Andy, I think for the purpose of this website we need to concentrate solely on tournament, if we give people the option of links then they will look elsewhere, it's choices that has got us in this position, so remove the choices.
I have it alot up here where we have young kids, bags of skill and they have never heard of tournament paintball and follow the path to Scenario because they know no different, well, let's educate people.
Sid
Okay random question, if i have 15 players in my team spread across 4 sites in central scotland, where does that leave the rest of the UK, surely 75% of site have at least one tournament player/walk on player thats a member of staff?AndyDane said:But what about the people that dont even know Walk On's exist? Someone that starts playing walk on's/scenario is still going to be aware of tourney ball and is still going to spread the word in one way or another.
