nope.

unfortunately logisitics dictate that i don't have too much opportunity to try out different markers as i live in sunny Northern Ireland. It is just too expensive to make it over to a tournament every month, when we add in flights and accomodation it adds around £125-150 per head, before we shoot one ball.

there are only about 14-15 tourney players over here and we mostly shoot angels, with very rare timmy making the odd appearance.

I have to make my marker choice based on looks, supply, players reviews, and reading these boards.

plus i love the look of that guns for hire coloured Nexus Ego.

oh my i am drooling again..............

Not just aiming this at you (as youve stated above) but this doesn't help, people buy guns and get em without even seeing one or using one, realise they're not that good and sell em for a loss, now, the people that want to buy this new cheaper marker need to get rid of theirs and sell it dirt cheap just for some funds towards the new one so they dont miss out.

Thats what i reckon's happening.

that i will agree with to a certain extent.

i think it is more about which marker is currently in fashion though, as Budgie said.

Egos are the thing now, but in another few months people will be thinking about next years marker. could be proto, dye, or another new model which has not yet been released.

angels have fallen from grace somewhat, shockers even more so.

i love my JD fly. its great and i have no quantifiable reason to change it, but i still WANT an Ego. cus i am about as deep as a puddle. i think a lot of people in paintball can relate to that frame of mind. we are a fickle bunch at the end of the day and the majority of marker sales are due to trends and whats "in".

i think one of the problems is that some body will sell at marker at way below its market value, this means the next person looking to buy similar expects to pay the same low price.

It is a buyers market at the moment

Think people.

A new car loses a lot of its value the second you drive it off the lot.

Fact of the matter is, why buy something used from somem guy when you have no idea what condition it is really in, when it doesn't hae a warranty, when it has wear and tear, when for a little more you can get something new that performs as well?

People are just going to have to accept that used equipment is just that - used. And common. The same thing happens with tons of other stuff. I'd be lucky to sel a computer I bought last year for 30% of tis value this year. Just the way it is.
