Why play SupaLeague at all? What's it lead to? Nothing. If EXL is a closed circuit SupaLeague is a one of a kind format played only by those left behind for what? And how many mid-pack or lower Am A's are gonna play double elimination against best of the rest Pros and top Am A's when the Premier League is obviously not the premier league.
Any team that hopes to get into a future expansion of the EXL needs to come play division 1 XBall, don't they, to demonstrate they can compete in the chosen format?

The MS Board must arrange a way of getting the EXL teams to play at least two tournaments in the SupaLeague, otherwise it will be just an hypocrite name, for an almost empty division.

We've been FCUKed again

This is there press release

The first big change is that we shall be introducing a Pro-League X Ball™ series, known as EXL, which be played at 4 Millennium events. The league will be made up of the top 8 European Teams with 2 spots left open for high ranked U.S. teams. At the end of the European Series the 4 top placed European teams will play the top 4 NXL teams in a genuine World X Ball™ Championship decider.

Where does it say NXL teams? Dynasty has supported the Millennium Series for a long time now. We have worked hard and done everything possible to make ourselves a marketable team to the Millennium-series. If we don't get the opportunity at least get the invite to this......there is going to be a serious problem here. You FCUKed us last year with the nations cup and now you are going to do it again. This is a load of crap.

It would be nice if the people behind it all could explain it to us all....

Like I was saying this is a total bs.
MS board are making a flying circus for 8 european teams to shine.
That is total crap.
Imho I think that we would be better served with a series were the likes of Dynasty... plays. And the other pro teams beside the 8 choosen pro teams, get a series to play.
We already know that some PRO teams don't mind playing the all MS plus USA events.
Why are we molding our (european) series so some European teams can go to some of the USA events?
Why isn't this x-ball deal a side event?
Why doesn't it stand on it's own?

Hey If I bring Dynasty to the Portuguese Championship, I bet I can get more publicity that the Mseries with this bold moves.

Yes, I know they can come and play 4 events where they will be able to play at least 2 games of a newer format.
Perhaps I should only go to these events.
Perhaps if the small teams see the market exposure value of these events, and decide to go only to these 4 events we will be able to see (again) non profitable Millennium events.

The small teams have little exposure, if we don't have the best (the real best) teams playing in our series, our exposure gets a cut. I think that is obvious.

And it won't be a promise of a TV deal in the USA that will be best for all the funding teams (us little guys that pick up the tab).

The PRO Division is needed. Make it happen in all events!

my 2 cents.

Best Regards
Jaime

I believe he thinks that when press release just says that the 2 spots are for "top US teams" yet in this thread and others people have been talking about/assumed that those 2 spots will be filled by NXL teams which would leave Dynasty out in the cold.

Depends on how those 2 spots are chosen

Take a look at recent magazine coverage of PSP events and you'll have a hard time finding any 10-man or 5-man coverage at all. But look at it this way, lower levels barely got any mention before anyway. :)

PS--shameless plug. Keep your eyes peeled to upcoming PGI for 'View' coming soon on what all these advances will really mean to the broad spectrum of sponsorships.

'Cus Rodney can't see any reason to come to play MS events under those circumstances; ie: no EXL slot available and a diminished "Pro" category offered in a third, untried format variation at only 4 events. Just a guess, you understand. ;)

EDIT: beat me to it, Beaks.

By Tuki :
“I mean…if Dynasty and Strange doesn’t want to participate in the EXL, coz if they want to they sure earned the places last season.”

By Nick Brockdorff :
“Dynasty and Strange will not get to play EXL - those spots are reserved for NXL teams (in as far as they want them)”

In : http://www.p8ntballer-forums.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=27616&perpage=15&pagenumber=2

So…or someone said to much, or someone knows to much, or Dynasty (and Strange) are being left out of an event that they supported last season, while NXL Teams were playing in their little closed paradise.

And all this for what?
To give 8 teams the possibility of a TV deal.
If this deal really happens, sure is going to be great for the sport, but if its not working in the States why should he works in here ?

Cheers

...
Let me refrase my idea.
If the best marketable teams are not playing in the event in the same format as my team. My team small chance of exposure is diminuted like you say on your example.

But I disagre when you say that 10 man lower levels got little (the same they got this past season) coverage before x-ball came to PSP events. They had some, now they don't have nothing. But this can also be related to the ongoing struggle x-ball vs 10 man.

Another example: just think of this year's world cup when Dynasty playing Div1 X-ball brought more attention that any NXL game. Isn't this a clear example, of what should be the PRO teams that MS aims for?
Overall beside 8 PRO teams, all the other teams are getting 2nd class service.
Some of the PRO teams aren't even getting any service.
Is this some kind of way of making a private series? (Retoric question).
At whos expense?
Small teams funding (paying for the event).
The PRO teams left out.

Are there afterall 2nd class PRO teams in Europe?
Are we going to watch 8 PRO teams shine because of lack of competition (the real one)?

Nick
If the TV deal comes along, how can you assume that europe broadcasters will buy it?
Do you really assume (or know) that the TV deal will include Europe Events? (Another good empty promess).
Can we risk it? At cost of damaging MS with the lack of the best Teams?

Sorry being such a anoying guy,
But I really can't imagine MS without some of the best Teams of PB, and I'm already seeing that it will happen.

Cheers
Jaime
