You really gonna go back to old style cockers?
Gonna be happy going up against the non boycotters on electros?
Or are you just gonna pay the extra?
Seems to me we all jump on our high horses, but if they have the patents, there is bugger all we can do. WDP can still manafacture etc etc but just not trade in the USA. If individuals choose to import out there i guess there is nothing SP can do.
All i can see it doing is making a few bucks for SP, a few smaller companies close down, people boycott SP for a while then all will resume again. Just another money based hiccup in the wonderful history of paintball!!
It's not about boycotting all electro's. It's about boycotting current SP products. It's fine to be using electro's made by someone else at the moment.
There is not bugger all we can do. This is about $$$ so hitting them in the pocket is a good start.
Also the whole fact this is being fought out in the court of law is BECAUSE something can be done about it.
If SP get world wide or European patents, then NO WDP might not be able to continue making guns. (I don't know if they are trying for this or if they have done, but it is possible)
And individuals can also be prosecuted by SP, for having, owning or building such a gun, it seems considering a recent article on American law I read...
Rumour has it SP are out to stop WDP completely.
And no you can't get around it by importing guns or making 'kit's that can then be assembled into electro guns.
If SP Win they will make millions out of other people's IP. Many companies will close down (either because they are not given licences by SP) or because they can not afford the licencing fee... currently rumoured to be $1,000,000 (yes one million dollars) per model line, and £50-$75 per gun.
Who do you think will end up paying for that? The companies or us the consumers?
