ok, ... give us the story Robbo, ...
..it's in reserve.....for just how long it stays there is another question and is wholly dependent upon my mood ..... the more I think about how this guy has acted the more I am becoming increasingly frustrated at just how he can be employed in such a responsible position....

Hmm - thought we were discussing prize money ? ;)

Even if I've had my fair share of run-ins with Ulrich, and that he has a tendency to come across as arrogant, I DO appreciate that he is often in an impossible situation... his is the most thankless job in any major series.... he gets all the crap and is left with very little power to change anything.

We all love to hate the guy in charge of refs and rules, because he is the easy prey when we need to vent our frustation at being wronged on-field - which happens to every team at least once every event.

So, to me the question is not so much whether Ulrich does a good job... but whether he WOULD do a good job, if the Millennium promoters gave him the budget to get the reffing sorted out properly.

As it is, he is left with a refing corps that he himself realises is in serious need of training - but without the budget to do it.

Decorum is deffinitely something he should go to night school for... but then I know loads of other people in paintball that get arrogant and talk "down" at people on occasion.... and I still like then anyhow ;)

Nick, the point is, he has done and said things that have nothing to do with the nature of his job being a thankless task and completely outside the expected and allowable behaviour of somebody in his position.
Your veiled dig at me doesn't excuse HIS behavior because he should act courteously to his customers, act professionally and keep his mouth shut when he has such inflammatory views on foreign participation in our league.
By all means he can hold these views but he cannot be seen to voice such an opinion to people like XSV, or indeed to anybody else within paintball.

Basically - this man is a nobody whose only claim to fame is the position he holds and it is the nature of that post that it will attract people like him.
He, like others we both know, is not suitable for the job he is employed to do when he has little to no grasp of people skills and political sensitivities.

He doesn't need defending Nick, that time has long since past since he has shown his true colours, he needs either replacing or educating.
And if he had called you with the same tone and content as he did me a few weeks back, then perhaps your position wouldn't be so sympathetic toward him ....or maybe even if you were one of XSV's players...

Nick, this man is a jobsworth of monumetal proportions, he is bad for his customers and he is ultimately bad for the Millennium because he will cause them problems and the ONLY reason they continue to employ him is because nobody else is willing to do that job which is hardly a reasonable validation for that continued loyalty.

And the reason I can say all this is because if he tries all this arrogant and ignorant cr@p on me, then he will no doubt be doing it on others .....

Shouldn't you be talking to Germans, rather than about them?:p

Disagree. He accepted the job. He is responsible of it.

And also, with a customer based job, it's not so much what you do but HOW you do it that is such a crucial element and it is most certainly this that is so absent from his portfolio of skills.
He just seems to have NO conception that we are paying customers and he is not a policeman dealing with criminals and msicreants ... he needs to leave or ...nah, people like him can't be educated, he needs to leave.
