Hi Pete

I wonder if you would feel the same way, had Jerry been running the series ;)

Nick
Nick, that's why it's all about degree, Jerry took the frikkin piss in terms of raping everyone and giving little back and I duly nailed him for that as you well know.
The Millennium events are somewhat of a higher standard than the old world cups of yesteryear.

For me at least, it's not so much who's running the events that is important but what they are doing, and it is that that then defines them in my eyes.

While you kids debate the relative merits of the MS Ruling Elite and the Proper Prize Distribution formula I'm a guy of simpler concerns--I'd just like somebody to explain what the currently offered MS numbers are supposed to mean because I can't make heads or tails out of them and I find that kinda disturbing. (Probably a pride thing.)

CPL worked in Marseille, but what if.......?

Pete, maybe somebody could invest a little bit of the entry money in a third players area for the CPL. Luckily their was a sea-break behind the CPL players tents so teams could get ready there, but if it had rained there was nowhere for teams to set up, and with the way the schedule was, by the time teams coming off cleared the tents the next games were up on deck.
Only a little observation, but this would also gaurantee having next four teams on deck if games don't go to time.:)

Sorry to hi-jack the thread but couldn't find anywhere to put this.

You could'a started your own damn thread but anyway ...

Pits should be large enough for the teams currently competing and for the "on deck" teams to prepare. At least that's the way we do things when playing proper Xball.;)

It was big enough for the "on deck team" to prepare, but the games are shorter than regurlar X-ball games, and by the time the team that are finished, are cleared out of the tent, its getting close to the game for the next team.. See:confused: In Marseille we could just sit outside and prepare, but if it rains..... That is what Buns of steel are talking about. I think, hehe:p

And here comes the real reason to my answer:
It`s soo good to see Robbo back on these boards :D I was a little worried here... I was really missing those "from the gut" opinions!
And i could`nt start my own thread just because of that!

And on topic:
1. price in Pro /CPL (- entry fee) will if you are lucky, maybe, just maybe, cover your expences for traveling & hotel...... So dont expect to get rich!

The thing that gets me about this whole 'pro' thing and the leagues telling us all, 'you guys are our showcase, yeh you guys are at the top of our sport, blah, blah, blah' (which by the way is all true) and yet they charge us the most to enter.

I just wish they would stop with all the bullsh!t and just treat us like paying customers and get on with it, I detest the pretense ... If I told you of a phone call I received from this Ulrich guy, you would not believe me.......he was not only rude but wholly inappropriate and completely disrespectful and this is how he thinks he should treat a customer of the MIllennium.
If he had behaved like this in the real world, he would have either been sacked or assaulted.
He really needs to learn some manners and some perspective if he is to continue in his job.

good old German efficiency, guaranteed to get the Brits riled every time!

and by the way - 'Jumped up Jobsworth' is actually a fairly significant compliment to pay to a German. If you want to get to him you should try words like:

Unorganised
Incompetent
Late
Unscheduled
Chaotic
Undisciplined

or even
"I'm sorry, these deck-schairs are already taken."

or even worse, if you really want to get a German mad; when they ask you a kvestion, just answer "I'll think I'll just play that one by ear" - Nothing gets them more confused than the notion of 'playing something by ear', they can't understand how zis iz possible!!

Hope this helps.
