just got off the phone 2 my uncle who is a pediatric doctor for about 19 years. he said a doctor would say its up 2 the person because if they say yes then you lose the baby they can be sued.

he would not recommend it he has been 2 see me play a few times so knows what go's on.

he went on for about 20mins about why but i just switched off after about 20 secs(sorry hard day at work)

any how thats my 10ps worth and if it was my wife/girfriend i would not let them play and before you start saying i am a male chauvinist pig i have been a house person for the last 10 years and i also work (part time),cook and clean and in no way am i a male chauvinist pig my 2 daughters, wife and dog(bitch) see 2 that

Shots to the stomache for me are not the issue here, there is plenty of natural padding their already when a woman is pregnant, but having said that I personally would advise a hard protective layer, not padding. My issue here (putting aside how we males would feel about a pregnant female coming onto the field, we know nothing but think we are the protectors) I would be very worried if lets say, she played back ;) and she were 3 on 2, she see's an opportunity to move up to say the 60, on the way someone lays a string on her and she 1: forgets her position for a moment (quite feasable) and dives into her bunker or 2: she gets off balance/trips and falls on her stomache.

Personally I would absolutely love my wife to play ball, but if she were pregnant (again) I would ask her not too.

Look hen you aint getting my point, I'm all for chicks playin ball, hell I love turning up to a tournie seeing blondes parading around its all good in my books, hell we should be enforcing that sh!t in my opinion.

But what your saying is so stupid I can't honestly believe a WOMAN is debating this. Why on Gods earth would you play paintball pregnant?! Say sum1 comes round and put 5 in your belly at close range, now my ass aint no Doc but I reckon its safe to say that if the nippers head is close to the skin and it takes 5 in the napper it aint gonna do the little homie no favours health wise now is it?

I could go on for ages about this, like what if you fell over or slipped while moving to another bunker (hey man it happens to us all)!!

You said ur Doc said it was cool to play sports you normally do, well that ho should be fired! In my book any chick encouraging another chick to ball when the eagle is on the eggs should be shot ...... right where it hurts.... the nipple!!!!

Seriously though ballin when preggers aint a safe idea man, as I said I aint no mad proffesor but a little bit of common sense goes a long way

What a sensible post.

Anyway, how far pregnant are we talking here? 2,3,4 months? That to me would be Ok assuming all was OK, any further on....my doubts start to set in.

You say that your/a doctor has said it is Ok to keep playing a sport that you usually play when pregnant, so I ask 1: as above, till what point in pregnancy 2: what if your sport was say Rugby?

in the litigious society we live in now, what if a preggers woman was playing took hits in the belly and had a miscarriage? who would be to blame? the player for shooting her there? the refs for not looking after her? she could try to sue the pants off the organiser for allowing her to play.

IMO if a woman wanted to play paintball whilst pregnant i would see her as extremely selfish and not ready to have a baby. The fact is we dont know what would happen to a foetus and if i was a prospective mother i for one wouldn't want to take a chance...

my opinion only of course...

idiot

As Mr. Cro said above about us men being protectors,as he described but with a different twist.Your the last player in on a 3 on 1,Your team mates know your packing an extra pod, and you get a major flogging.Dont you think your mates will rush the field for some payback.Ladies that are pregnant should stay off the field.Video your team or something,Hell 9 months isnt that long to wait.Better to add a healthy little G or G-ette than to be straped next to your kids wheelchair.Think about ,may or may not happen.
But what If!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seems pretty simple to me. If the pregnant female wishes to play then thats down to them, as for padding, well that purely is gaining an advantage and should not be allowed.

Though my personal opinion would rest wit Makky, and sorry to put it blunt any woman willing to risk there unborn child to get slaughtered is just damn selfish, and irresponsible!!

Obviously a lot of different factors come into play here. As pointed out above, how far the pregnancy has progressed is important. A foetus of only 2 or 3 months is not even at risk much should the mother fall flat on her belly. Past the 4 months point, this changes, getting progressively riskier as time moves on.

I doubt that a woman who is so far into her pregnancy that she starts doing "the waddle" would feel like playing ball. So I guess we won't see many of these on the fields.
I for one would not want to take the risk if it were my child, but people have accused me of being overprotective towards my family. However, the doctor may have said it's okay to play, but does this doctor have a working knowledge of paintball? Is she aware of the forces involved?
There is also the other side of the coin. It is obviously entirely the woman's responsibility should she enter the netting pregnant. But I know I would feel pretty messed up if I knew it was my string of paint that triggered a misscarriage.

Anyway, that is not the point of this thread, everybody has an opinion on this, but in the end it is the woman's own choice.
This thread is about any extra padding being allowed. I'd say yes (after all we men are allowed to cover up our reproductive organs, so why not the ladies?), as long as it does not generate any extra advantages, so a hard shell would be fine, as would most forms of neoprene.

Playing pregnant is stupid, end of, if a pregnant women stepped on the field with me im afraid i would have to sit that game.
I couldnt live with myself if i was to blame for any problems it may cause.
