based on the pa rules any player may wear any form of hard impact armour
and
no player may wear any form of padding that may cause a paintball to deliberatly bounce.

therefore i would say you could wear what you wanted as long as it wasnt padded beyond what is normally worn to play, ie one jersey, one undergarment, a bra if you are female and a pack which must not have a padded belt.

as a ref i think i would seek the advise of the tourny ultimate if an obviously pregnant female player were to take to the field to play, and i think that in the interests of both the safety of the player and the baby and for insurance reasons that a medical certificate stating specifically that the player is cleared to play paintball would be required.

please also note that this is not official in anyway just my thoughts

I don't know where this thread is going, if its just to start dropping hints that sum1 might be preggers or equal rights or sumthin daft like that but .... playing paintball when pregnant makes you stupid and selfish end of.
Dont care how much padding you wear if sum chick is got one in the oven she should be more concerned about keeping herself stress free n all that pre birth sh!t than running around getting shot in the belly.

So, supposedly, if enough male ballers objected then maybe a pregnant baller might be 'banned'... That's outrageous!!
Why should a player have to stop playing her favourite sport, if her doctor said it was OK.... just because other 'un-informed' players felt 'uncomfortable'?
Isn't that a form of apartheid?

Why does she has to tell the others she is pregnant in the first place??

And its not really a form of apartheid if at all!!!

If your doctor says it is ok to carry on playing paintball (not just your normal sport) when you are pregnant then I don't see why the same amount of padding allowed for chest shouldn't be allowed for your new bump... but surely paintball isn't gonna be good for a pregnant woman, I wouldn't have thought being shot in the stomach would do any good to the unborn child... unless anyone knows otherwise...
I would be more worried about the fact that you could cause damage than that you were wearing padding :)

Mak D: Should i want to announce a pregnancy on p8, i would not drop hints, i would simply say 'i'm pregnant'.
My question is both reasonable and relevant. With the increase of female ballers and a general desire to see paintball become mainstream, we should be looking at ways to adapt rules to allow as many people as possible to play the sport rather than restricting it.
And as far as 'having one in the oven' and running around playing sport, With my (lady) doctor's approval, I continued with trampolining, ice-skating, running and aerobics whilst pregnant and baked two very nice well-done buns weighing in at 9lbs and 10lbs, both full term. :D And stress? What's that? I think that's a male trait as us ladies talk about our problems :p

And in reply to Mike... If a female baller wanted to wear belly protection then i think she would need to explain to the refs why she was wearing it. I think we would need to stop all non-pregnant ballers jumping on the bandwagon though and ask pregnant ballers to produce a confirmation of pregnancy, in the form of a doctor's certificate maybe??
