I don't really think it has anything to do with the shooting aspect of our sport. As I say, it would, in most cases, come down to the male psyche and our natural born instincts to protect the female of the species.
In our modern, politically correct world this may be viewed as being wrong by all the 'bleeding hearts', that Women should be able to make the decision for themselves but can you imagine the outcry if a pregnant 'baller was actually hurt while playing a game? And what about the opponent who caused the injury? 99.9% guarenteed that it would be a bloke, can you imagine how he would feel? Thats why I said it would be exibiting a selfish and disrespectful attitude if a pregnant 'baller continued to play.

Noted. I think it's more 'baby' than 'female' who is the target of the male protection though as most guys are quite happy to take to the field vs a non-preggy female :p
