And to be honest when i found out about the legion/nexus thing, i think the word JEALOUS springs to mind and if we could of done the same i have no doubt we would of.

Also thinking about it if Nexus comit fully to 7 man and 7 man training only and not like last season with two formats then sure there is no reason why you cant chalenge for a top 8 position with the players, coaching staff and sponsors you have, and i think that goes for the Tigers and Shockwave aswell.

So then good luck to all three of us, if it does turn out that we all make it in, i think it will be a giant step forward for uk paintball

peace

Ant,

Tigers would pull in players if we could not fill the roster for sure & we would (like any team) try to get the best possible players to fill, but dude we would NEVER get anouther "team" in to play. For me its just to humiliating to consider but then again Nexus is run bussiness styley & making the top 17 is without doupt the "bigger picture" ;)

Pete pls give us some credit, dont forget we are in the runnings with only 3 scores to most teams 5, 6 or 7. I think thats a good indicator that we can compete in the top 17 next year.(Pete, this is not a dig so dont take it that way)

First off, I wanna make one thing clear, I honestly do think that if the tournament in San Diego was of the same standard as have been most of the others, then I would have no problem in sending Nexus over to play and be confident we would make the cut for next year.
We ain’t playing particularly well at the moment but have improved over the last few weeks where I seriously believe we would normally be ok if it were a normal NPPL tournament but it is not.
San Diego is definitely going to be the hardest tournament in history and the Sunday Club is going to have some teams in it who have no aspirations to play in the NPPL next year and no chance.
In fact, some of these pro teams entered haven't even played a NPPL before and here they are directly affecting the chances of those who have.
Every one of those teams just mentioned who makes it into the Sunday Club will displace one of the teams who has supported the NPPL over the past two years and is trying to get in so as to help qualification, this situation is unique.
Basically it's an anomalous cluster fcuk and in such times, teams have to do what is needed to qualify. Some teams may well purchase cheating boards for their markers and so on, I have decided to try and secure my place by more legitimate means.
The precedent for guests being used has already been set by many teams before ours, so I don’t feel any moral outrage, more slightly aggravated that ‘Johnny Come Latelys’ to the NPPL have caused this to happen.
The players on my team do not like the situation any more than I do but as pros, they see the long dollar, as do I.
It don't take a lot of working out Boo to figure one tournament's sacrifice enables a whole season's security, the sums are easy mate and any player who is serious about playing pro next year would make exactly the same decision, make no mistake about that but perhaps some people’s choice of guests might not include the best team in the World :)

Warren the three scores u got have been attained by playing two Millenniums (which are significantly easier to gain positions in than NPPL's) and one outing to Vegas where you had the majority of your team as guests playing for you.
So it would seem that it's ok for you to endorse the majority of your team being made up of guests in Vegas but not what I am doing.
Now I am taking two Nexus players over for San Diego, both of whom will play, isn't that what you had playing in Vegas?

Warren, if you are gonna get involved in this, at least try and make a valid point and think about what you are writing before you post, it makes it easier for me to answer and much less embarrassing for you.

Ant, no problem mate !

Gareth, agreed :)

Pete, I think the destinct difference is that we were unable to commit a full team to vegas as we were honouring our EXL agreement.

Wozzy, we ain't on the brink mate - It's tight but we're not teetering on the edge and because we only have 3 scores all points we get in SD are added straight on.

Woz i agree we wouldnt field an entire team, but its a fact that we only played vegas with 3 Tigers, and if nexus are gona feild 2 players its not far different, i think its only the fact that the players nexus are using all happen to be on the same team, and the best team in the world at that, that it makes there situation far more unique than any other.

Dont sweat over it Woz, when we make it in we will know that we made it in on our own merrit.

Hey Gareth, point taken but this is not the point in question, it's the principle here.
The situation with you guys was bought about by yourselves in a sense because you chose to play the majority of your team in the last XBall event.
Now, XBall at that stage, as you know, meant nothing to nobody, it wasn't going anywhere mate, the Russkies had won it by a mile, Joy had second place pretty much locked and XBall was dead for 2005 so the fact that you guys decided to put the majority of your team into that was entirely your choice.

And in making that choice, you had to use guests in Vegas for the NPPL which everybody knows is where it's at for next year and as such was by far the most important consideration.

Anyway, next year will be the acid test for all of us and I wish all us Brit teams the best of luck coz sure as ****e we are all gonna need some luck next year :)
Peace

Except for the points u got in Vegas with your guests :)

Oh Come on Ant, u didn't think I was gonna let that slide did ya?

After all, u had Vegas with four, I got San Diego with 5, you gonna bust my balls over one player?
We both used ringers for one event and it's academic what the reasons were or are.
Let those without sin cast.....
Peace
