Okay, on this whole reunification thing...

Latest news or rumors from the Millennium so far:

1) Xball light (15 mns) already agreed.
2) Rules have been re-arranged to be played for 3v3, 5v5 and/or 7v7
3) 16 team Captains need to vote now for CPL in 2006 : 5v5 or 7v7?

Now, why don't we all agreed on the 7v7 just like the UK Pro Tour, played and tested by our fellows brits????????

....because if the integration league (NPPL - PSP) choose a 5 -man XBall lite format then it's pretty stupid for us to go with a 7 man format...so we must wait and see what happens...maybe nothing will happen but we cannot jump the gun on this one.

Your senility gets worse...it's what Eddie Cochran sez when his folks are outta town and he wants to throw a party.

If he gets caught then there`ll be no more movies for a week or two, no more runnin' round with the usual crew - sounds like tha sort of punishment NPPL should levy on HK.

Your curiosity probably isn't the most important consideration now is it. As Robbo said, wait and see what the yanks do. If Europe tries to go it alone, we'll get left behind (well, further behind) no matter whether the format is better or not.

7-man X-Ball light is just a completely stupid solution.

Either paint consumption will rise considerably - or teams get the same game time as today, but against fewer opponents.

Add to that that teams will need to bring more players than today because of short turnovers - or the turnovers will be long enough to do it with 7 players (which is far from media friendly) - in which case events will need far more fields/refs because of the added time consumption.

It's just combining the worst of the two formats.

Seems to me that what is driving this debate to a large degree, is the notion than some people "love 7-man" - and want that maintained no matter what the cost.

To my mind, if we want to go the X-Ball Lite route, the only sensible thing is to do it as 5-man... no metter how enamoured some people are with the idea that 7 players on a team is the only "right" way of playing paintball.
