Getting Up Again
let's get a petition going for the teams. paintballchannel can help get that out, so can p8talk.

I'll start drafting one now. I want to go for the team's one first, closely followed by the industry one.

I want everyone in the industry to see how many teams really want an unbiased, uncompromised reffing crew.

Paintballchannel can also help by keeping the issue fresh in everyone's minds. I'll get some press releases off to the magazines and other sites shortly.

Short-term, let's fan the flames.

I was checking out the NASO website...very interesting.

Something that would be of additional value would be their LOAN program for local tournaments and events.

It would take at least a year and a lot of convincing the promoters to shell out a few extra bucks to get it working though.

yes it is...not to mention many of their other programs.

I basically have a standing deal with them to develop an officials training program for paintball that will fall under their umbrella.

they have great insurance for game officials, a VERY interesting 'what would your call be' type based magazine and lots of connections within the sports world.

I've written a petition for the teams to sign. I've sent it off to this forum's moderator in the hopes he will find a home for it here.

I've also sent a copy to Bryan of paintballchannel as he has offered to help.

I have also established a yahoo group that you can subscribe to to get information and to help organize this thing - to subscribe, email - NCCPOO-subscribe@yahoogroups.com.

You can read the entire petition - and copy it for distribution - at that group in the messages section.

If anyone has any other brilliant ideas - other than offering changes or additions to the current petition - or signing it - please get in touch.

Let's make this thing burn up the internet!

Mother, is that you?
Steve, I can hear the trumpets from here.

For what it's worth, pgi would carry such a petition and p8talk... but I doubt it will come to out. I subscribe to the idea of an independent reffing organisation - ironically I was trying to cajole Robbo into setting such up a few years back.. after all, who'd start getting punchy with Robbo over a decision?

Anyhows, I guess I'm a little resigned to our woes - I've heard such talk for 15 or 16 years now. You can have as many armchair activist supporters on forums like this as possible, but until teams vote with their feet and stop turning up to be mugged off we'll be discussing this in another 15 years.

...and the only way to get that ball rolling is to court the top five, six, seven teams and their sponsors who are also the promoters who are also split by politics who are also fuelled by rivalries, who are also...

As a matter of interest, how much do you think it would cost to set up such an organization? And am I correct in thinking the org would be profitable? Or at least that is an aim?
