My personal opinion!

Bring back 10 games or do the prelims in one day, on 2 selected fields!

I agree with that, a la NPPL.

Well played in Dam Frank.:)

Well.....

.....we can bitch all we like... but the MS is not going to change it..... as long as the potential competitor (NPPL) is also running 8 games.

I wonder if the player reps are going to put this issue on the agenda.... if they in fact have one?

Bah.

I thought this was a paintball TOURNAMENT?

Millenium is an international tournament circuit. The objective is to determine a winner, not entertain you. 8 games is more than sufficient to determine a winner. If 8 games isn't enough, try winning. If you can't win, you may wish to reconsider playing in an international tournament circuit.

If you want entertainment, there are far better ways to get it than paying to play a paintball tournament. Especially in Amsterdam.

Players need to stop expecting the top level of competition to cater to the teams who are not up to the task.

Without the teams who are not up to the task attending, there is no money to provide a fitting top level of competition yet...Paintball's very own, self-imposed vicious circle.

There still is an open field on Sundays that noone has been using. Hey you could get 10 games under your belt by noon on Sunday if you got organised..... and its good training. But most losing teams go out and get wasted..... or go to live sex shows.... or both....

i don't think the 'value for money' question is being considered correctly Dougal.

If you compare number of games to cost, it's horrible value.

You're paying for a higher standard, esentially you're paying a premium to compete with the best.

Have they killed the 'street paintball' field idea for non qualifing teams? I certainly thought that gave good value for money, you get to hammer out some extra games with whoever is kicking around. [edit] freddy says that the field was open for some street ball action, why did no one use it? [/edit]

Maybe the question should be, what kind of player am I? Do you play paintball for fun, or is the competition what really matters? If i was playing purely for fun, then i would probably stay at home and play domestic events, as the cost is much cheaper.

I think for a lot of players there comes a point where they decide that international paintball is simply too expensive, and they choose a series closer to home.

I'm not saying that you should 'like it or get out'. I think Frank's suggestions of going to less fields, and all prelims on 1 day, is a much better idea. The promoters have to consider all sorts of ways of making the events cheaper for the players, forcing people to take less time off is one great idea! The cost of competing is huge, and increasing each year. If Promoters want more teams to attend their events, they have to start getting really creative with how they help the players get there cheaper.

Or get some better outside sponsorship, so players don't have to pay entry fees...

Or free beer.

That´s odd..... I always thought the whole point of competition was trying to be better than your competitors. Seems like the MS would rather be as good as, instead of better than... Strange way to improve your market share.
