I don't see why you are all pinning your hopes on this alternative series idea.

Did the NPPL offer 10 games when it split from PSP - hell no it kept it at 8.

The Millennium have just done any competing series a huge favour by lowering the number of games by allowing them to come in at the same level.

Less games = less field = less refs = more money for promoter.

Putting on a 160 team tournament and giving them all another 2 games is a whole lot more expensive than some sponsored drinks and free fruit.

Nope, you wont get 10 games if the NPPL or anyone else comes over, you'll get other trimmings maybe, and atmosphere that was lacking at DMA, but 2 extra games - I seriously doubt it.

Depends what you mean by "exist". I think this is a result of "Hey, we're doing this and losing money, and that's gotta stop."

So, yeah, I suppose the promoters could go back to doing Millenium for free or at a loss, but that's just not a reasonable expectation.

Sounds like Raehl Lite

Or maybe it was we're halfway down the road to hooking up with the NPPL and we're done with the Xball experiment so standardization--particularly at less games--looks like a winner.

Now, with another reversal of fortune it's gee, we're gonna have to compete against the NPPL and we've given away our hole card but, we're doing all kinds of new, amazing stuff--soon, we promise.

I'm using a liberal definition of "lose". I should probably better say "We're doing this and it isn't worth the time or effort or hassle."
