I don't give two ****s how many times they chrono a gun, the more the merrier in my book because I know, out there, there are people who will cheat and swindle at the drop of a hat and if we can build in enough deterrents, before the game, during the game and after the game, then that sounds good to me.
You can stuff your rule book up your ass mate, cuz if you get anywhere near me with a rule book, ranting on about its integrity being upheld when people are out on the field going up against hot guns BECAUSE of your rule book, then its gonna be used as a suppository....but not on me !!!!!!

Robbo ;)
Thats poor.

Its not that I dont want chronoing. I want it like you do. As often as possible. But I wrote it too often to do it again.

May be my look is a bit different cause I studied law for years now. I dont say thats laws are good in general. No. Definetely not.
But on the other hand if one can easily punish somebody else against the existing law we are back in the dark centuries of our human history.

And none of these 50 points is about safety. The gun was already hot during the game. Is somethings happend it happend at the end already. Thats my point.

I strongly believe, that you are a little pissed, cause you dont like the way Laurent acted. Me, too, but Im not going to stuff my or your rulebook somewhere where the light ´s not shining ..

safety

intresting debate going on here, time to add some of my thoughts

Paintball as a whole is more relient on safety than most other sports i can think of, and i believe most of us want paintball to be accepted as a sport. It is therefore OUR responsibility to ensure that all safety aspects are stringently adeared to and those that push and go outside those limits are delt with accordingly. That includes the wearing of goggles outside the safe zones and your marker is running with on the safe limits.

When it comes to checking your marker it doesnt matter if the marker you are using is running hot before, during or after the game, you know what the legal and safe limits are and if your over them then you pay the price and its gotta be better to suffer 50, 100 penalty points for your team than ever having to live with the consequences of somebody losing there sight. And one things that is for sure the bad press paintball would recieve for such a occurance happening would put back the hard work of changing the perception of paintball as a sport years!!!!

Safety is the be all and end all of paintball, its installed into you from your very first game and should be no different when you have been playing it years. May be its time to look at the limit we set the markers to should the max limit be lowered to say 280fps as now play on smaller arenas. This would allow some margin if your marker does malfunction of keeping it with in the legal limit.

The future of our sport is in our hands, and its up to us to ensure that the future generations who come into it have a sport to play and not just a pass time but that can only be done by ensuring that it is safe to do so.

It doesnt matter what the rules state, once you have left the safe area / crono area, your marker should be available to be checked at any time, until you again return to the safe area, because during that time you are making your self available to use that marker against another person.

I don't think we need to reduce the velocity limit.

I do think some form of head gear should be mandatory though.

The 'legal' limit as seen in the eyes of the law is dependent on muzzle energy and is actually the equivalent of 320fps with our current weight paintballs. So you can see that as long as people do not go 'hot' that we are within the governments legal limit.

Hi manike

like i said it just some of my thoughts, it alright going on about what is wrong, but really what it needs is people come up with other ideas to help rectify the problems.

My point is on the smaller arena fields do you need such a high velocity?? or could you get away with a lower one if it helps the safety aspect of the sport??

i agree with a lot of what's been said

i have to say what more do we want a well run tournament and lovely weather.
come on guys stop winging, we always get bad calls
take for example "every time we took to the field's we were asked "you are english"
is this a dig at us?? , no not at all.
bad call's and discrimanation are rife in this sport .
so what is the way forward "i don't know, im only a humble nov player.
pete i would value your input on this
how can we move forward ???
now that's the big question
p.s well- done campaign power (one up for the brits)

Just to really put the cat among the pigeons.....

isn't it odd how some teams have a post game "ritual".

Such as how some players on Avalanche would often (I saw it about 6 times) at the end of a game look at their LCD's, fire 4 shots into the ground and look at their LCD again. They also tipped out all the paint in their hoppers.

Weird huh :)

P.S. Got to say i wasn't impressed with LaSoya's play at the end of the Legion game in the finals - did anyone else see it? I will check if I have it on tape as I filmed the game.

the problem and the solution cannot be found in blaming ton tons. It is not about them it is about discrimination.

it may as well as be an american team in a U.S field. or in S. Africa or in Turkey!!!

for those who had been to big tourneys, you should know that a %10 of failiure can happen in chronos but they give you three shots and you get hot gun penalty after 2/3 is over 300 fps. it is at your own responsibility to set your gun considering the %10 tolerance.

do the math: you shoot the guy in the most far bunker how many points you get???

your gun is 301 fps, you get a minus 100 points.

should be this easy, fair and square....

John, your English is quite good but you are still making no sense whatsoever, I am well able to 'do the math' as you put it and I think you are saying that it is down to the player to make damn sure his marker is shooting under the legal velocity but this is not the issue, it is an issue of an inappropriate changing of the rules, halfway through a tournament, by a promoter to benefit his own team, understand ?
Hope so :)
