What a load of rubbish the ion is a gun that needs to be pretty much dissasembled to even grease the bolt smartparts cannot void a warrenty on something the instructions tells u to do

Smartparts have allways been like this if they paid attention when building them and tested them before they left the store things wouldnt be so bad i haver seen ions arrive with hoses missing and orings missing so just goes to show quality controll doesnt exist at sp europe

im guessing your gauge went to 0 and the gun started hissing,
faulty regs sraight out of the box are common amongst the ion family
i took mine out the box stuck an air system on it and the reg let 800 psi straight into the gun ,pop goes a hose
but to sp credit they fixed it free of charge in 1 week

have you lot noticed sp in america are fine but over here its a crock of **** im thinking that its discrimination because we are foreigners to the company this may sound like a load of nonsense or may not even make sense but wdp planet all give briliant service to us brits and to them yanks but the yank companys like sp bob long have either $hit or no support wot so ever.

wdp = techs all over the place
sp = a load of $hit no techs hardly anywhere

i own a shocker and love it but the service and support is below normal or even low standards.

i just bought my first shocker very recently and I cant believe the low build quality, im used to WDP and DYE markers and i was really dissapointed when i saw how thrown together the shocker actually is , i dont know exactly why but i do enjoy using the gun but ive already ordered the upgrades for it as a neccesity rather than with my previous markers - a luxury.

sorry if this is already common knowledge or off topic but i needed to vent my spleen:)

I was just wondering if planet would ever enter into the £200 market?
If SP can sell out of all there Ion stocks and have trouble matching demand, then just think how a company with a great service record would do !
C'mon Planet, you can hear the cash register pinging already !

"or is it just that i don't want to buy an Ion, but the price is making me moist"

It's probably that planet know that they will struggle to manufactutre a profitable product for that area of the market that represents the quality and workmanship that planet are famous for, also due to their fantastic after sales service they would end up spending all their time keeping these cheap markers running.

Remember the Eclipse 'Spyder' didn't last long did it ;)

One way or another paintball equiptment is Precisely engineered, and precise engineering does come at a cost

Ion is mainly made from Composit material (plastic if you will, which is cheaper to make as moulding is alot cheaper than Milling) and the Wrath looks and feels like a lower end Spyder with poor annodising and a poor set out of Pnumatics IMO.

Diablo have only dabbled with markers before the wrath and those markers have all been blow backs.

SP have never been known for their quality builds, i do believe SP Markers are made of a softer/lower grade alluminiUm (please correct me if im wrong).

So for planet who pride of their reputation, i dont think making a budget marker would do them any favours

In the latest PGI the 2k4 BKO was critisized for not having a ACE system, but before the Ion/Wrath you would struddle to find a marker below £500 with an ACE System.

It just shows that if you want Quality - you gotta pay for it

Peegee - notice I said 'REPLACE'. If you weren't meant to disassemble your marker then SP wouldn't have included tools.

lets be honest

how many peopel would expect to buy a brand new gun, attach their air system, and away to go, shoot off some dry air through the gun?

in the manual provided by smart part, it states to turn your regulator down to a lower pressure, and then build up you pressure to approx. 140 (or what ever it is) OR if it crono's over 285 psi.

with the ion, if you screw in your air or CO2, then quite honestly it is of your own fault that you did not read the manual properly. if you buy a car, would you drive it without learning howto?!!!?

but with many of the ion that are beign returned to smartparts many of the faults that are occuring with them are not just this incedent with the Reg. many have had shoddy board that do not operate as required.

in any instance, you, the customer, has the right to a refund of your credit spent on an item, that has been sold , which is not fit for the use in which it was sold. Be it from a paintball gun, or even a car, you still have the right for a refund nomatter.
