If it started off this way, it sure ain't now as once the first deal is done.......it's now open to everybdy...
2--I think it's business as usual but at least it ought to be clear to anyone paying attention just what their "investment" is worth. And how the league really views the teams competing--as interchangeable cogs.
I think this point is now self-evident but I also think what you may be misinterpreting as some sort of Machiavellian master plan to assume total control is more likely the result of not laying down hard and fast rules for processes that were always gonna happen down the line.
The NPPL have not prepared themselves properly and thus by default leave the pro teams vulnerable to whatever 'mood' they (NPPL) are in at the time when it comes to setting the rules as they go along.
The point I am making here may well end up proving academic because the circumstances for any particular decision mean nothing, it's the decisions they inevitably make that determine fairness, legitimacy and so on.
This is not a good situation !!!!
3--Don't worry, be happy. Missy will remind you how much it's worth according to Pb rumor mill and Chuck will tell you how much they want you.
It wasn't too many months ago when I suggested all the Pro teams ought to band together in their own longer term interest but didn't get many takers. I know, I know. The Rats and XSV don't need anybody--today--and too many of the rest are corporate owned or leveraged but alone you've got nothing to protect you when Fortune shifts. And it always does.
I gotta say, Missy has always been straight with me, I have also got a lot of respect for him.
I also think, and I will restate, if Missy and Ged (oh and Camille ) ran the show, the NPPL league would be in a lot better position.
Chuck has done some fantastic things in getting venues like HB etc but the mechanics of management and correct decision making is hindered by too many cooks spoiling the NPPL broth.
My criticism of Chuck is that sometimes he just didn't look at the bigger picture when he needed to, no doubt he would contest this and he may be right but that's how I see it.
