Rich, it's because the dates overlap that is putting us into this situation and thus enabling them to slap this exculisivity clause upon us, no common date = no problem....well for you at least coz I gotta find the money somehow to do 10 events with the NPPL now costing nearly $60,000 to play, $15k of which is just entry fees :(

I will do what I can.............

As for XSV, they got the resources to play what they like and of course they are gonna be pinched in this one but my post was referring to us Euros, basically us and you guys.
Mind you, I did hear whispers that perhaps it's not such a bad thing if XSV are kept out as all they do is come over, take the money and run back to the US.
The way things are going at the moment with the world forces of paintball tending to aggregate in geographic areas, it may well be that European teams will play in Europe and so on and so on.

It just means that in this interim period while world Paintball sorts itself out, teams like XSV might well be denied the piracy tag and have to focus their resources closer to home.

I could be wrong :)

Pete.

Regarding the markers, as you know some Euro teams also use cheats. But I was reffering to how "clean" players are in Europe or the US. Its pretty much the same if you ask me.

Regarding the MS cutting out XSV, that would be a disaster if you ask me. XSV gives alot of credibility to the champions legue and without them we are better off playing the Nordic series. We just invite 2-3 euro teams and then we have a just as strong competition without having to go to France and Spain etc.

Beating XSV would be the goal for us in the Millennium series this year and without them, then its not the same. Im sure those whispers are from people thinking that a event without XSV would be so much easier. Well it would but a win wouldnt mean anything, not for us and im sure you feel the same.

My point isnt what legue we should chose. For us its a no brainer. We will play NPPL nomatter what. But we want to play in the Millennium series also, and with the current rules we cant. Not this year and not in the future either.

ok on this topic first of all we arent pirates, pirates make money. we loose money playing the mill league. Im mean we loose a good amount we come over because we like the people the events and we like to play paintball. If you guys want to keep us out and you can leagaly do it but in the long run your only hurting yourselves. If you cant compete in the usa you should at least try to compete againt them and how better then in your own series?

I can tell you that this is bad for sponosrship bad for paintball and bad for relations but if that is what it is to be then so be it.

Rich, I don't believe anyone on here said they didn't want you and the XSV boys playing in the MS. Sure Robbo said some people have said that, but they are most likely the teams scraping the bottom of the Champions League and feel they would stand a better chance without XSV... If I were on a pro/Div1 team I would love to play you guys, just because that way (as you said) the teams skills will shoot up.

There's no better way to improve your game than to play with the best of the best.

Rich, the piracy quote was a reference to the conversation I had with a couple of your guys in Madrid re what a Millennium official said to you about 'coming over and taking all the money'.

I just got off the phone from Laurent and a solution will be found whereby teams like XSV, Joy and Nexus can play both series if they miss the first one.
The first venue date cannot now be changed for either series and as such something had to give here or I (along with you and Mag) were gonna be well pissed off with the political consequences of this running a lot deeper than a few pro teams.
Common sense will prevail in this now, I am sure.
All three of us now can take a chill pill :)

Webby, the reference was from a Millennium official but I hasten to add, it was not any of the Millenium Board promoters as their take on things is as it should be, teams like XSV, Dynasty should be welcomed (well all except Greenspan anyway).

The person who said this was certainly NOT speaking for the Millennium Board.

Baca - Pete answered the one question for you, the tigers slot is sold. I hear the ability to change names is also up in the air. I have been off the front line for 3 weeks but for the most part I agree that all this stuff has to be written down so that it can be understood. It comes to something when even the people posting here (including myself) are not clear on what is going on.

Too little communication going on, in every case.

1--Paul, I can actually confirm the team spot is to be sold to the SP people but as to what they name they use, it's in question.

2--I think the NPPL is flying by the seat of their pants on this one with nothing being set down in writing and thus they can set the agenda as it goes along and to as how they see fit.

3--It's not a good situation when we are being asked to commit soo much money to play in the NPPL and have no formal agreements on our spots.
I don't like this situation at all, it smacks of a lack of professionalism with the way things are being organised at the moment.
1--What, are we seeing another situation where the "haves" get one set of rules and the "have not's" another? In Pball? Never.

2--I think it's business as usual but at least it ought to be clear to anyone paying attention just what their "investment" is worth. And how the league really views the teams competing--as interchangeable cogs.

3--Don't worry, be happy. Missy will remind you how much it's worth according to pbn rumormill and Chuck will tell you how much they want you. :)

It wasn't too many months ago when I suggested all the Pro teams ought to band together in their own longer term interest but didn't get many takers. I know, I know. The Rats and XSV don't need anybody--today--and too many of the rest are corporate owned or leveraged but alone you've got nothing to protect you when Fortune shifts. And it always does.
