CC

Even though we got let down on the las miniut of CC, by 2 drop outs we still enjoyed th event, Although the players entrance could have been the one that went up from the car park near the tomahawk field, this would have been much better than the long walk over them stones,

Trade stands awsome great deals everywhere i spent a bloody fortune .

Toilets what a stench from the players ones , i almost strained my stomache belching up like i was on death row.

Tech stands again absolute great idea on location with the air and service A1

Fields surface the best ever, marshalls always bad calls but nothing unusual , very hard for players to cheat play on the marshalls was real on top of the game .

Food bloody hell i thought bandits wore masks, trying to forget how much the food actually cost:mad:

overhall fantasti event, just trying to get my voice back after cheering on Kellys Nexus just so manc and most other brit teams. also great to see Luke from Kellys is ok ,

Madrid cant wait for this one

I think most points have already been made but I think I'll add my two pence.

The Bad:
- Access to field 4 (JT) to spectators was bloody awful, requiring some what of a slog.
- The judging on the JT field was also extremely lack lustre. I wish they had been made aware of rules before being allowed to judge. I had to turn the eye off on my marker in one game, as per the rules i had to make a judge aware..... He ignored me for some time before eventually.... 'Judge, can i turn my eyes off'...... 'Err, i don't know.... can you?' dickhead.
- Food, yeah, it's been said before but it was rubbish. Expensive, poor service and unhealthy.
- No Xball. The EXL and Nations cup of the last couple of years really made for fantastic viewing and for me it was sorely missed.
- The MCing and comentary for the finals games on field 1 was very lacking. It's all well and good knowing who's playing but rarely was the crowd informed as to what the games were for (pro, div1, consolidation etc)
- The players party was a bit of a joke, Hard Rock Cafe was rammed full and the Works wouldnt let anyone looking like the average baller in (scruffy)

The Good:
+ The fields, just brilliant. Fast (espec field 5), exciting and aggressive made for great and varied games.
+ The turf was fantastic, grippy for running but also bouncy and great for sliding. I'm not a fan of sliding at the best of times but the surface made me confident that i wasn't gonna shatter my kneecaps.
+ The judging was also very good. With the aforementioned exception, the judges had a clue and seemed to stay on top of the action and worked their nuts off over the tourney.
+ Security. The players area seemed to have been kept very secure, passes were being checked all the time. I'm not aware of any thefts that occured.
+ The heckling was brilliant fun. You may have noticed us lot on the top centre row of the main grand stand with such classics as 'Even your mother hates you' and the 'KILL!' chant when it came to the last man standing that did catch on quite well.

All in all an enjoyable event. Although our team didnt play to the best of our ability and missed out on the sunday club by one (bloody) point we still enjoyed ourselves. Especially when we took FLC down to one player and they cheated a bit..... ahem.

Nah man. FLC didn't cheat. Yo made a stupid move from the tape into the centre & lost us one side of the field. Then we got raped, fair & square. Whoever it was that put a foot out-of-bounds, did get pulled. Top ladies, top game.

This was my first international & overall I have to say that it was one of the best weekends of my life. There were minus points, it's true (" five quid for a bloody Jacket tatie??? That's a four stone bag, where I come from pet!!") But the turf, marshalling, brit cameraderie & excellent marshalling more than made up for it. It was nice to finally get to have a bit of a blah with Robbo, meet all my techie heros & have a tech course (poorly attended, by the way. Where were you all???) with Eric Roberts off of the LA Ironmen. The player's area was really well layed out, with everything (bar paint) close at hand. A few more chronos would have been nice mind. The games we played, won or lost, were all hard fought & I have to say, the only reason we lost, was because the other lot played better than we did. My only real niggle, was the Americans (x2) who will remain nameless, who gave the two lasses running the air station a hard time, because they wouldn't let them fill DOT bottles. Un-nescessary & bang out of order. Learn the rules or stay at home!
Summary; MINT!! I hope I get the chance to play next year.

Fat Ladys Charms were definitely the team of the weekend for me, despite it only being D2. Their games with Squall were epic and those girls have some mad skills, and most of them are really really hot too. They were also staying at the room next to me in the hotel but sadly I left my standard issue peephole drill at home ;)

Mmmmm. Not quite as proud of that one, now I'm sober. Funny though.;)

The Kelly's chop thing (I believe) is a native American (are we calling them that now???) good luck spell. If there had been room, we'd have danced in a circle too. :D :D

We found the marshalling to be the best of any recent Millennium. That was based on what we directly experienced in our games or saw whilst spectating. Strict, mostly consistent and a lot of tough calls handled correctly. Of course there will be a few bad calls (we had a couple of very iffy calls) but they were very much outweighed by the good ones.

To people complaining that rules were enforced on one field but not another: are you complaining about the refs letting you off with breaking rules, or about being caught?

Otherwise: field layouts mostly very good, food far far too expensive, toilets better than average, site layout good but a pain when you had to walk a very long way around to get somewhere, security good, playing surface absolutely perfect, signposting lousy, seating good on Mill & Dye fields but nonexistant on JT, Colin's Sunday commentary amusing but not as funny as the legendary Piper/Arroyo combo.
