i got pulled for a third sticker on my hopper....while playing, if they had told me when they should have done as i was being checked at the start then i would of removed it.... but they didnt and so i played. the marshal who pulled me had a good laugh when he was telling me at the end why...

correct me if im wrong but u cant get pulled for something like tht in the middle of a game?

food prices were expensive but i think that was due to the nec charging stupid prices to sell on the site

trade area was good
turf was amazing
field layouts were ok but some were less than desirable
marshalling was inconsistent and i felt a little let down having paid so much entry, iv experienced better marshalling at bullys event before

all in all it was a good weekend....but some things really could b sorted out .... bring on the euro nppl ??:)??;)??:p

This was my first millenium event and i have to say i loved ever minute of it, pitty the team didnt make the sunday club but we'll be back next year to improve that placing :D .

My only complaints would be the biased marshalling on the Dye field 6-7 marshalls at our end of the field resulting in 3 reruns when the opposition was found with consecutive hits.

Well, first off i have to say the organisation was superb. The venue was excellent and the trade stands all made a good show.

The turf was amazing and i loved plaing on it. This has tobe the future for surfaces in paintball since it just rocked!

However, there are a few gripes.

1. The food and drink was extortionate. When i pay this much to come to an event, i expect the catering to be a dam sight better. The cost was appalling and meant that much of the budget i had hoped to spnd on shiney things went on just one salted rat sandwich. The variety of food at a sports event was also poor!

2. The marshalling. The fact that the french marshalls had been split across the fields meant that instead of a single ****ty field, we got to experience a whole spread of randomly shotty calls throughout the weekend. They were biased to the extreme and lazy to the point of ridicule. There is no point employing these people when they are quite clearly not up to the job. They neither wanted to be there or mad any effort to actually marshall. The german marhalls were in a good mood most of the vent and seemed to be enjoying themselves and made an effort but in my opinion they didnt seem to be able to read games and were slow to anticipate crucial moves. This made the following decisions wrong on a lot of occasions.

3. The distance that kit had to be carried was silly. I know why you made us go all the way round the trade stands but please remember that we are paintballers and will buy shiney things anyway. The gate at the bottom could have been opened so that we didnt have to wreck our bags dragging them through the mud and debris.

4. The layout of the fileds meant that even the hardened paintball fan couldnt be arsed to go all the way round the back to look at the chronic and jt fields. This may have been down to the limits of the space available but it is worth considering for next year.

Other than that it was a great event and much better than last year which almost saw me and my team binning the CC as an event.

Thanks to everyone who made it a great weekend, next year will be our year!

The sign posting sucked, if you approached the nec from the wrong direction then you simply couldn't get to the paintball and had to go back out to the motorway, onto the A45 to birmingham and then back into the nec where it was signposted?
make sense of that?
From a spectators point of view the whole thing looked good but i have to raise a few issues
Why wasn't there a covered seating area for people eating or just chilling out away from the games?
The NEC stewards were somewhat jobsworthy:mad:
I came up with my wife and daughter (14months), we were not allowed to park her buggy anywhere near the stands, and i don't mean in the middle of a fire exit or anything like that, we were just not allowed anywhere near. It wasn't just us i saw a lot of people being turned away, so this just wasn't a family event that it should have been:(
The information or explanation for anyone turning up out of the blue was non existant, if the local posters or radio advertising enticed anyone in, then they would have been lost, how about charging 50p admission and handing out a guide, so people knew what was going on, and a little about paintball.
Other than the weather tho, it was a top event but still needs to step up a long way to get us out of the gutter !

I will start with the negative and work to the positive!

Catering Facilities- Very Poor but what compared to say DMA. Great food and lots of it covered eating area etc. Though whilst purchasing some food a female behind the counter said to the staff to increase the prices as we players would still have to buy the food and drinks. Please note that I believe Nail could not do anything about this as its NEC's food outlet or something. So I guess we look like walking wallets to the nec

Toilets- Better than last year and whilst thinking about even better than crystal palace where the rent aloo over flowed. Though if anybody tried having a **** in the cubicle had to be a contortionist to get trousers down without knocking yourself out and once you sat down your knees were knocking the door, And believe me I am short so your tall guys I really feel sorry for you .And god Robbo is a huge bloke he must have had to stand side ways.( i meann no offence either.)

Players staging area was good though a bit cramped and bins were in a short supply some of us ballers know how to keep an area clean.

Now for the plus bits.

Fields _ layout and designs were great not one field could be won from a particular side unlike most domestic events. It was good to know you could win from either the left or right. Though some field were on a slight uphill giving you a little advantage sliding in to the 50 on the break if you were coming downhill e.g. the Dye field

Judges – only two bad calls all weekend not bad at all. I will not go any further on these calls either.

The Turf- not once did I think hey I am playing over the top of hardcore but this is so cool and I can’t wait to play on it again.

Trade area- this goes two ways you will understand. Great set up and lots to view and purchase as my wife found out whilst I let her look after my valuable wallet whilst playing. Planet must have made a fortune out of me as she loved the clothes and jackets.

Overall this is a making of a great venue and look forward to seeing and playing it again. We from team Zone would like to thank all the teams we competed against over the three days for coming we enjoyed it and hope you did too. Big thanks to the man himself who took 5 mines for a chat. To all the Judges for your hard work.

Mostly though a big thank you to our sponsors Jackie and John, Cheryl and Pete and the rest of the Crew from NPS. To Mr Tim Lowe from warren wood paintball.
Without your belief in this team we could not go forward.

I will do the same as Steve, start with the bad and work to the better.

i The food was really expensive and not very good, but then we are sort of used to this at CC.

ii Not enough bins about, I know we ballers can be untidy but most of us will use a bin if there is one.

iii The weather, I know you cant help it but having a river running through the staging area sort of upsets you a bit.

iv The really long walk from the car park to the staging area and over uneven ground too, I can understand why spectators and non players have to walk through the trade area but us ballers will go there regardless of where it is. The paint stands were also in the trade area making a long walk with the paint too.

OK enough bad stuff here come the plus points.

i The fields were good and the astro turf was great.

ii Marshalling hard but fair, we like a few others had a guy pulled for not ( quite ) touching the start gate on game on. But rules is rules and we only did it once. Some of the fields were stricter that others but top marks for the reffing overall.

iii The trade area was good with most of the major players in attendance, nice and cosy in the Planet stand during the rainy bits and a nice plasma "cough" to play XBOX on while you wait.

iv Spectator seating was large enough to cope and you could watch two fields from the top of the main stand so had twice as many games to watch, although this is where th stewards started to bug everyone a bit for standing on the seats.

v The teams, some really really great games from teams from Portugal and South Africa, its good to play teams from abroad to see how they play, in our case quite well coz we lost most of ours.

vi Lastly the venue, even though it was a little tricky to find once you were at the NEC it was far fairer for the teams from north of Watford and had the airport within spitting distance for the teams that had to fly in.

Summing up, hope to see you at the NEC in about 362 days coz I will be there.

The Good:
Turf - As at Paris, wonderful stuff
Air - HPAC need to get more love here.
Free water - Finally
Kerrang sideshow - Sheer hilarity.
Trade village - Same stands as other Milleniums but was well arranged, gave a good legitimate feel to spectators.

The Neutral:
Fields - Didn't play too badly, but boring to watch the finals. Toughie because its a participation sport.
Finals - The MC'ing and atmosphere was well short of Paris.
Marshalling - Depends on how your team found them at the end of the day.

The Bad:
Food and prices
Players forced to pick between wrecking their backs or kit-bag wheels to go *around* the direct tarmac to the staging area.
The weather - well I can't blame Campaign for that but the lack of cover was a bit poor.
The crowd - Brit apathy? I swear Kellys got more support from us in Paris. Shameful really.
Layout - Quite confusing, others have mentioned the paint thing. Close by techs and air was better than Paris though.

like i said earlier the dj at cc was not as good in paris there really made the croud work in paris and it was alot more fun than at cc..we all gave the brit teams a real big up there but the atmosphere was not the same

kiss my face
considering how well campaign was advertised to the general public i thought it was terrible that once u got to the NEC there were no signs for where to go.
After driving around, up and down different roads with no joy (couldn't even find any stewards who knew where to go) i sacked it off and went home,
I was wondering how many people who wont post on these boards did that- seems a massive shame considering how excellantly it was promoted :(
