Pete, by discharge I meant the consistency of the gas burst. In it's duration, pressure and volume. Not just time. Lock time or dwell isn't what I meant. Sorry to confuse.

The gas burst isn't always hostage to the input, but in general and with many gun designs you are correct. There is an element of 'self healing' with poppet style valves. You can get a somewhat consistent output even if the input pressure fluctuates because they self adjust their dwell under some conditions. The reduced pressure behind the poppet can allow the valve to stay open fractionally longer to get a bigger volume of gas at a slightly lower pressure...

Obviously that depends on the gun design.

I will hopefully be in Vegas.

Ben Frain there is a LOT of BS in paintball. I like to test things out for myself.

I'm not going to tell you what you want to hear though. Sorry. I've tried that before and people always take things out of context or misquote me etc. You can ask in person and I will reply though.

I haven't tested 'all markers' I've just compared 'some'.

I'm not sure which is harder to design. My jury it still out on that one. :)

In general top end guns with decent regulator systems will perform such that the onus is on the paint and the player.

Simon, if you could possibly drop me a mail on the matter it would be much appreciated, I'm very interested. If you are not able for whatever reason, I obviously understand. Would PM or email you but it is disabled.

Sorry to disagree Mak but it wasn't any of our gats. None of our shockers broke a ball all Toulouse - sweeping statement I know but they were rocking and suprised us (first time we used them).

There is one other thing that affects accuracy at speed and thats recoil, something with a little bolt and big body kicks much less than a small body large bolt. Again this is only an issue at speed.

Are the new shockers sensitive to being taken apart and put back together by none-techs? Im aware rebuilding the old shocker was like working on a small nuclear device....jus thinkin if tigers worked great outa the box....maybe rodney has been playing around with the scentedpaint boys guns too much.... I think its some kinda habbit...

Nick....seriously, your begining to sound like the iraqi information minister....next time you guys play theres gonna be hords of guys with cameras waiting for 1 of you guys to have a burst!:D :p

My guess is shockers are 'a bit paint sensitve'...and dynasty just aint got the right stuff, a player on 1 of the top sp teams told me just yesterday.. he tries to keep away from brittle stuff, the gun shoots awesome.....

Mr Lambini, I did think about it and as I stated would have completely understood if for whatever reason Simon had not mailed. However, he was gratious and generous enough to mail with more than enough info for my tiny mind to be thinking about and although I found it fascinating I also repect his wishes to keep what little bits he told me confidential. That is the way it shall stay.

Aint with you there man, out of all the top end guns the E-Blade is the one I see breaking the most paint, seen it in Toulose, The Dam and Paris........... just seems to be a fact my friend

Nick

Nick,
I realise the context of your last post, but just to shed some light on the Eblade's ability to shoot brittle paint and Its reliability;
We took delivery of our new E blades on the field walking day of the Max masters. Straight out of the box completly standard we shot 17 cases of paint with 10 breaks in total across the team. The paint was Venom and it was breaking 9 out of 10 from chest height.
Paris open Xball 37 cases shot 15 breaks across the team, paint was Duke and was breaking 8 out of 10 from waist height.
Amsterdam...... same as.
So far to date the anti double ball stuck out on my marker and that's the only time one of our markers has been near a Tech since we got them, now that is a quality product!
Chuck.
