You're all talking as though the decision to hold it in Esher has been made already? Has it?

I agree that the venue does not have the same wow factor that you might get i you were to walk into CP stadium but... (I bet you saw that coming);)

...as Sam is saying, the lay out at CP is not ideal. I hate the fact three of the seven (nearly half) fields are tucked away "out the back" and i personally would rather see a setup like the Nppl where the players area is in the centre along with the fill stations, the fields are in a ring around the outside with a trade village close by. **** loads of players parking 2mins walk from the players area and lots of spectators parking 3mins from the fields. The finals fields could (if Esher IS the venue could be constructed in the the stadium and are only used on Semi's / Finals days.

One of the other problems with CP was that no external advertising was allowed as the local authority do not allow posters to be put up... Or at least that's what has been said in the past. Maybe this problem can be overcome around Esher.

And finally i live about 4mins away from the site as well so Esher rugby club here we come. Again, it doesn't have the wow factor the CP does when you actually walk into the stadium but wait until a few ££££££££'s have been spent on the place and i doubt you'll recognise the place.

Come on Niall, is Esher RFU the place to be next September?:D

Yes it has. It has been confirmed elsewhere on here.

The site at Miami for the NPPL would have looked nothing special before they set about transforming it into a wicked site. Give Niall and the set up crew a week and they will transform the site into a paintball heaven!:)

I haven't decided where yet. Esher is not a done deal but it is a possible venue.

Crystal palace looks very dodgy and as I have said before we have grown out off it.

Beard and I have travelled the home counties with an A -Z checking out every bit of green on the map. So far we have done about 30 venues. The ground I want is Richmond RFC but we can't have that next year. But 2005 is possible.

I have looked at a ground outside manchester with Ledz. Which would be great apart from its being developed at t he moment and they cannot guarantee parking. This is still an option if things change.

I have approached London Parks. The security risks are immense. Too big.

I agree that Esher is tired. So is Barran in Toulouse. Its not what the venue is, its what you make it, and You could create a perfect paintball set up at Esher. Its just not in a great place. Its local to Campaign so local PR is easier to handle. We could may be even get some support from the local council like Toulouse gets.

Contrary to Mr Brockdorf's posting, a PR company is used each year.

.Its my intention to make the perfect players event next year. I am still trying to find the best venue. I still have places to look at So get off your high horses messrs Abbott. Jeff, you would be one person that I would ask to green light any venue before I took it anyway.

Jet lagged. Knackered and asleep!

I was making the general observation, that other than Laurent, no promoter has yet had any success in attracting the general public to the events.

On the other hand, Laurent has also proven that it can be done.

i am sure that if Niall lived next door to the local mayor, like Laurent does, then promotion and local support would be far more forthcoming.

As i said - "Again, it doesn't have the wow factor the CP does when you actually walk into the stadium but wait until a few ££££££££'s have been spent on the place and i doubt you'll recognise the place."

It must be tuff finding a venue which has the right mix... As has been mentioned before, a players party organized around CP would be a nightmare but near Esher you've got the Works, McCluskys and the place that used to be Options!!!
:D :D :D

Quality Ho'age from every angle!!! Trouble is they're all underage.

Ahhh....Niall.
How was the weather in sunny Montreal?

Just expressing my thouhgts on Esher as a venue and when we have spoken about it before I said it didn't do it for me.

As for you and I agreeing, didn't we agree to disagree?;)

As always, the Campaign Cup will be good for the player but I just think that it could be so much more.

At CP, we had the prestige of holding an event in one of the UK's premier sporting venues. Jeez, we put paintball right in the face of Sport England and they didn't turn us away. I just think that we should do all we can to make the CC bigger and better and I believe that locaton is key to this. Toulouse works because of the help from the local government. The location isn't great but people come and enjoy due the marketing of the event. If CC doesn't have that level of support then we need to follow another route. More accessible venues in highly populated areas would go a long way to puting CC in the No. 1 spot.

Anyway, I may be a bit biased cos I'm planning on playing this one!!!:D :D :D

C ya Sunday....." high-ho silver!!!":)

That's bad news, I really enjoyed the campaign cup and the venue. This could however be a blessin rather than a setback! I would much rather see thee tournament move more northerly as There are major airports that can cope, the roads wouldn't be quite as bad traffic wise and my personal favourite reason.... Less pikey's!

Only one set back as far as I can see, It would rain, constantly!

I hope the new venue is as accomodating as crystal palace as I thought toulouse was my favourite millenium event and campaign was a very close second, we don't want it dropping back further and not attracting as many big teams, spectators or media interest.
Would hope that we could grow to bigger and better stadiums although understand pb is not football.
