2. Only one set back as far as I can see, It would rain, constantly!

1. airports that can cope are not necesarrily airports that can offer fares at the same price!!!!! Heathrow or gatwick are considerably cheaper to fly to from the states!

2. yes and this is a problem! IMHO it needs to stay as near to London as poss!

How can you sayit's cheaper???

yes there is an extra five pound airport tax from say.... manchester to london ( oooo five pounds)
but there are no congestion charges and the beers are not four pound fifty a hit and..... I aint even goin on about it. London is a cool city and most people would rather come from abroad to see the capital! So I agree to keep the venue in London if possible, but dude it most certainly is NOT a cheaper option!

Said other people from abroad not me co's I love Manchester til i Die!

Methinks you're getting central London and the general London area a bit mixed up here! Congestion charges are ONLY for a very small area around the city (a little over 1 square mile), and unless you live right next to that area then you shouldn't be going anywhere near it to go to Surrey.
£4.50 for a beer - I didn't pay that in the Westminster pubs I used to drink at! Maybe in some clubs, but again in central London not the suburbs let alone outside Greater London.

I gather the point about cheaper travelling was that the flights to non-London airports from places like the US are more expensive than they are to London, as there are fewer scheduled flights to the other cities.

I Know what your'e sayin and I didn't get my ass slapped with this, but there were a hell of a lot of people who did..
I was talking to people in miami who played campaign and the ones who had to fork out the cash themselves, couldn't get over the price of beer and food, but then again they had to change dollar to pound and that's not good!
Back to congestion charges it's great when you know what's what with them, but bein dumb northeners some people really did get slapped... ask Russell Rulebook?:D

There was absolutely no reason why Russell should have been anywhere near the congestion charge zone - except that they got totally lost!:p We have a little ring road called the M25 to help people get south of London from up north - I don't drive through the centre of Birmingham city to get to the Zap Indoor, others don't need to drive through central London to get to the South West of London :D Of course it will be harder this year for me going to the West Midlands, I hear that there's some form of toll on the M6 though us southerners don't get to hear where it starts & finishes.

The guys at Miami were probably talking about the dollar cost of beer!

No trust me we were gettin our arses slapped on the beer, co's I was comparing it to Ibiza, however looking back there is a possibility that they heard our northern accents and decided to rip us off! It's possible! As I've mentioned before when people come to England they want to see the sites and to me that is London.. Who in their right minds wants to see the annual fire extinguisher eatin contest of the kids of manchester, or the annual who can rob the most grannies?? :D :D

But seroiusly, It didnt cost that much less for us to play campaign as it did to play some of the other millenium events, which was a shock! But it was all worth it to see some crazy guy in a glass box!

Peace and love ron

guys,
dont be getting hung up on the Tv and major sponsorship.
paintball and Tv are still at least 20 years away, all this talk of major TV deals is a nonsense, it is based on a number of meetings between promoters and Tv production companies.

Outside major sponsorship is also quite some time away, at the moment the public are not yearning for it, neither are the shareholders of major companys, and to be fair, paintball isn't anywhere near organised enough.

Everything for an american is gonna seem expensive here
beer in the states will cost you $4ish in a bar but then £2.50 here is the same unless they get seriously raped on the exchange rate...food definately is more unless you go to a greasy joes and of course petrol is way more...cigarettes here are the equivelent of $7 a pack

Smelly Pete...20 years...highly doubtful, I may well have retired from playing when it finally becomes totally accepted but that horizon for me isn't 20 years away. Outside sponsorship has already happened...years ago with the first Hyperball tourny and to some extent currently with the NPPL in the states but look at the common denominator here, Pure Promotions is another arm of WDP.
