the thing about centarl london sadiums, and stadiums all over the country in fact, is that while they are enclosed and good for 2 fields in the main arena, the other 7 fields have to be located a long way from the players area, and results in little atmosphere
Just look at Wimbledon. U have centre court and then u have numerous courts surrounding it. My point being u need some kind of 'centre court' where the finals can be played and teams can showcase their game.

Toulouse has been doing this for years.
Theres no greater feeling than playing on the two stadium fields in the finals. The finals just wouldnt be the same if u were playing for 1st & 2nd on 'field 7' down there, past the tree and on ur left.

true, but those players do not have to play on Center Court, then 40 minutes later play on court 15, then 50 minutes later play on court 3....etc......

There is no reason why two fields could not be built as flagship[ fields with bleachers towering on each side and end, with the other fields in a horse shoe shape around the players tents, the atmosphere would be much more intense

Yes there is!
Its called money!

If ur wanting a venue specificly for paintball, then ur gonna have to look alot further ahead than campaign cup next year.
& if ur thinking about putting it in a grass field with bleachers
then we may aswell start playing in the woods again because thats just going backwards.
We've done this already.

We need stadiums (or somthing similar) to show case are sport.

peace out, much love

samk

ps. lunch break is up, I have to go back in for my electro shock therapy now or else get the padded cell treatment again :(

What i described above was the exact site layout in Miami, t can be done. The atmosphere was far better in the MImai finals than in the finals at CC

I know.

That was your first time state side though. Right or wrong?!

I didnt go to Miami but I guarantee that the atmosphere would not have changed much if at all had all the fields been scattered 'every where'.

Every time I've been stateside the atmosphere has always been great.

I've been to WC's that have had terrible layouts. But the atmosphere has always great. Thats just America for you, any one else who's been will tell u the same.

fair enough, true.

but the site for amsterdam was great, better in my opinion than all the others, and that had been built on an open site.

My opinion

I've been to the cup for the last three years. Every time has been quality. Most people tend to say that campaign and Toulouse are the best touneys around. I trust Niall to run a class act.

So far he's made us proud so i reckon some people on this thread should cut him a little slack. Ok a couple of thing at CP could have been tweaked (very few in my opinion) but then again no location anywhere will ever be perfect. When a venue is announced and you don't like it then flame the man down. Or don't pay the money and don't participate.

THe site in Esher has a lot of similarities to Toullouse.
In terms of making an event that is easier on the players, Esher has everything.
All that it lacks is the 'presence' that you get when you walk into the stadium at Crystal Palace.

Campaign Cup - The Future

I agree that Euro and US teams would find it more expensive to fly into UK cities other than London, even though I wouldn't mind having Campaign here up North - the new Man City "Sportcity" satdium would be a class place to have a big event.

I think having the event at a Rugby/Football stadium the right idea - grandstand seating is already in place, there would be facilities for TV coverage, there is space for the trade show, and parking shouldn't be a problem.

I've always enjoyed going to Campaign, and i'm sure that Niall and the Board will make the right choices for the future - they've done pretty well so far.
