Problem with holding it anywhere other than the general London area is that it will be a LOT more expensive to play for foreign teams. Yeah, Manchester, Bristol, Nottingham may all have international airports, but these are so much more expensive to fly to for most people.
I'd think you'd lose a lot of teams that way...

also, alot of airplane services only fly to well known air ports like heathrow, gatwich and stansted

the problem with crystal palace was definetly the area, you couldnt really go out and have a good night, just seedy back door pubs and kebabs:D

personally, i believe the m25 league had the perfect idea on the basis of where it was held. it was held in a public park, with publi footways etc, if it was bigger, could you imagine how much of a crowd we would get if a paintball event was held in hyde park!:D

DW ever been on the M6 or M1 in rush hour? Far worse than the M25!

And DW, how would you know teams would be satisfied with train rides etc....i know i wouldnt!

Heathrow and Gatwick are the main airports in the country, everybody flies to one or the other, that is not the case for the northern airports.

The best situation would be for the promoter to find a large grass area and set about building a site. there is no reason why TV would not come, i could build a better site than Crystal Palace in terms of field location, bleacher seating and fenced off security than existed at CP with the resources and experience of the MS Board.

I seem to recall, though I have no idea where from, £30K being the figure mentioned for hiring CP for the Campaign Cup... could your site be built for £30K or there abouts.

We don't want the entry fee going up too much, do we? ;)

Entry fees have already gone up dude:)

I have no idea how much it would cost, however, i doubt that the cost of hiring a grassy area would be in the region of 30k. My suggestion was purely hypothetical, with the experience and finances of the board, they could hold CC in a field with a built site, just like it was in Miami for the NPPL, which was the best site i have ever played at. And there was no stadium, just a huge grassy area, (which gave me plenty of room to ride around the mini motorbike i stole off Markus Nielsen!;) )

just a figure for you, i know from my sources;) (me) that the 6th m25 leg was hired for FREE! and the one before cost about 400£ to hire for 4 days,

max you would look at is £5k surely for a bigger place, that gives £25k for luxuries:D

Location, Location.
I could understand it being more for american teams to fly into differnt airports but flights can't be that expensive to birmingham or manchester from mainland europe?!?!
