Anyway, I'm only really going off what I have noticed whilst playing. My 16 seemed a lot more reliable for one balling and took less adjusting the direction of my line of paint. As you say there aren't many dudes that actually line up the barrel like a frickin sniper that often, for the most part of it we kinda know whereabouts you need to hold your marker to send paint in a specific direction.
BUT, but but but....if anyone evr asked me what barrel length I'd recommend for a support player to use I'd still have to say a 16. The main reason I changed to a 14 was so I could get in smaller bunkers without getting stuffed on the end of my barrel AND it is a happy medium. I don't believe ANYONE would want to opt for a 16 because they look better because smaller barrels always look way better than super long ones and I think everyone agrees with that.
Spoilers on cars?? Yes they are their for show but on decent cars they're their for a reason as seen with the Audi TT. That was produced without a spoiler but they had to recall them because they had a tendency to spin off the road due to lack of downforce on the rear end and guess what they did.......you guessed it, they fitted spoilers to them, which look ugly as f*k by the way.

Aha, the ever abiding conflict between form and fucntion !
Do you wanna look good or do you wanna play good ?
I wonder how many pro players would be seduced by form at the expense of function?
I mean, just suppose 16 inch barrels did shoot more accurately but 12 inch looked soooo much cooler.
How many would shoot the 16 ?
I think not many, I might use the 14 as a trade off but then again I'm a poser.
But luckily, it seems as though we are rarely faced with such a dilemma as most of the stuff that works the best in paintball, looks the best and if you need proof, just take a look over in my direction :)
Al, I give science / maths classes at 25 pounds an hour mate, any time you wanna.....:)

rancid

Mother, is that you?
Hey Robbo,

A few inconsistancies...
1) you've been telling me for months that the xball team you put together is full of largely unknowns with better techniques than pros - and that the vast majority of pro players are no better than joe bloggs. Shame on you.
2) when you first started playing and I was trying to teach you to stay tighter and think about the equipment you used, you had purposely built up your razorback to have a 20in barrel and a silencer on the end. You told me 'Listen you fkin no hoper, I've got a degree in pure mathematics, and I'm telling you this barrel is more accurate. Now agree or I'll bash you up.' Fact. I've got it on a dictaphone tape. Shame on you.
3) you twisted Hotpoint's words, and that's not fair. Shame on you.

So, answer those and stay fashionable.

Do you really want to hear the story about Open-Bolt and Closed-Bolt Markers?!

Rancid, TJ......et tu Bruti..... being turned on by my own colleagues and hoisted by my own petard......the shame is nearly too hard to bear :(

Anyway, I think on reflection and after re-reading one of Hotpoint's posts, I owe him (Hotpoint) an apology.
I just said 're-reading' because when I first read the post by Hotpoint regarding his little test, I skimmed it and mistakenly thought he was setting up some sort of target area test when in fact, it was an alignment experiment.
If I had read it properly the first time, there wouldn't have been any confusion, my mistake, I apologise.
I will say however, it does not alter the validity of anything I said thereafter merely its context.
In the end, albeit by the scenic route, we did arrive at the correct understanding of barrel length and accuracy.
