There are two massive and maybe insoluble problems that the Millennium board have, firstly, at no time, do any of them consult the teams.
As Acsik so succinctly puts it, we are the paying customers for God's sake and these guys go about their business, making these stupid decisions and expecting us, the paying customer, to just bow our heads, utter thanks, and obey.
Who the frikkin hell do they think they are ?
I mean, if you are going to make decisions, like the dead box fiasco, the padded jerseys debacle, the mandatory pro reffing scandal, the X-Ball Jerseys shambles, the Strange / Dynasty calamity, the ID card scam and so on, at least consult the facking teams.
And if you ain't going to consult the teams, at least try and come up with a decision that bears some resemblance to common sense and not as tho it's been produced by a bunch of Muppets.
The second massive problem they have is they (The Millennium Board) do not speak with one voice.
Some members of that group have their own agendas that reach far outside that of tournament promotion, much like the PSP has had going on for many years. This leads to a confused approach and inconsistent promotion of events and so on.
These guys have now proved they can't do the job as a collective with regard to the coherent management of a tournament series, this much is obvious.
But where does this leave the teams coz at the moment this is the only game in town ?
Well, I'm sure the year will unfold much as it was meant to, with the rest of the series going ahead and frantic attempts being made to save face and put right what was wrong but the chemistry is not right within the members of that board for there to be any long term successes associated with the Millennium.
Things will have to change dramatically and whether that change is bought about by a direct competitor or internal fracturing, a change will have to be made, make no mistake about that.
And the change should include a team represented input to that board with voting rights, associated with any rule or procedure that the board might think appropriate.
I also advocate, as I have done before, a fully INDEPENDANT rules committee set well away from the grubby little interfering hands of anybody who might wish to tinker with them.
We all know the people who are qualified to do this sorta stuff, we also know the people we don't want anywhere near it, it's up to the teams to get some form of team representation going, much like Mattie Schmidt of Shockwave tried to do a year or so back, and then just enforce this mandate onto the promoters.
