i would not be so hasty to say that the millennium this year is crap, its only been one event, there are still 5 more to come.
i agree, from whats been said, portugal sounds like the world cup in terms of organisation and respect to the paying (and playing) customer.

i know that i am of little knowledge to this subject, but i felt that had to be added. and as robbo said, Huntington beach was a WDP brainwave.

Nah...

I think I'll go the opposite of my usual direction and make this arguement:

The first thing you need isn't a player organization. The first thing Millenium needs is to lose the Board and delegate certain responsibilities to certain people and give them full authority to make the decisions necessary to carry out their responsibilities.

It's the same thing that's hosing up PSP - 5-10 people have to be consulted before anything can be done, and it just paralizes everything.

Also one reason why I think S7 is going so well - the people running it each have the things they are responsible for, and they don't need to go consult 5 other people everytime they have to make a decision.

X-ball

Only an hour ago, my guys talked to Steve Morris down there, who knew nothing about the additional € 3,000 for X-ball shirts.

This puzzles me enough to want to reserve any judgement on the goings on, until I have a clearer picture.... the team will investigate further tomorrow.

- Maybe the Tigers/Shockwave guys misunderstood something that was an offer, for a requirement ?

- Maybe the X-ball commissioner is not AWARE of the additional fee a full 24 hours after it has been introduced ?

- Maybe EVERYONE has misunderstood something here ?

Until I know for sure, I will keep an open mind and see how things develop.

I will say this though.... IF (and I DO say IF) the cost of X-ball is € 6,000 due to this shirt scheme, I have asked the guys NOT to pay anything to the organisers, until we have had a chance to talk to our sponsors and amongst ourselves next week.... and we will only pay entry fee upon receiving a a written guarantee, that no cost beyond € 3,000 will be incurred by the team, for participating in European X-ball.

We have meetings sometimes in order to inform and clarify. If people choose to ignore the meetings after being informed about their scheduled times and importance then wherein lies the misunderstanding?

Since you weren't there, Nick, I can understand that you don't know what the hell you're talking about. That also comes from getting info second hand. I had a discussion with Nikolai, I was aware of things and of course I knew the program, but I invited Nikolai to get some more info from Laurent, since I felt he was in a better position to explain things, and since he was the one who presented that point in our X-ball meeting. I also wanted Laurent to hear Nikolai's opinions so I could discuss it with Laurent

So please don't lambast me about things you aren't well enough informed about.

As for the details of our X-ball program, it is an internal matter between Millennium and the national teams. I'll send the national teams more detailed info about all that's going on as soon as I can unpack and get things sorted.

The status of the Nations X-ball schedule IS a public matter and I'll be publicizing that information as soon as some scheduling issues are sorted out.

Steve,
Dood! I know you took on the commish job cos you wanted to do positive things for paintball so, please re-read your post. Particularly that next to last para.
If you imagine it is in the Mil's interest to have only the teams responding publically you (or somebody) are making a serious mistake. The best thing y'all can possibly do is lay out the whys and wherefores and let people decide for themselves. Whether folks agree or disagree they will at least respect the Mil's honesty. And if there are some who don't believe those who are interested but not directly involved have no right or need to know--maybe so--but it's a very short-sighted point of view. You used to recognize that when you were on the outside. ;)

Yeah, the Boogie Man.

Baca,

I'm not going to use this as a forum to inform the involved teams about our policies. This is a business matter between our customers and ourselves. Team captains are invited to discuss these matters with me via the normal direct channels: meetings, e-mails, telephone, snail-mail, etc. Call it what you wish.

Steve, let me get this right, did you tell Nikolai that you had no knowledge of the extra 3000 Euros that was levied against the teams ?

Planet Piper away from you freaks!
Make a sentence out the following words!

Millennium, Bath, Run, Could, Not, A

Anwers on a post card please :D

I think (having been there and seen it all) is they (the Millennium Board) are losing touch of reality. I mean last year all the events could not be faulted.
But the first event of the year! Jesus christ it was bad. I have never seen anything from the Millennium this bad a chimp could have done better!
Ok some things were out of the control like the rain. But the rest was in there control.

I just hope they all get round a table and sort there lives out, and remeber the goldern rule...... The customer has a right to complain cos without them you got........ Feck All!

Would like to say tho that I take my hat off to every team that showed up paid there money. Well done guys and congrats to all the teams in the finals.

Magued you are without a doubt the MAN! What you said at the prize giving is the best thing I have heard in a long while. Nice work!
