braided hose

just be careful because a lot of braided hose that is used in paintball is intended for use with co2 and isnt capable of hold high pressures...
true but then most people use it to hook up their bottom line or reg into the marker (or 2nd reg) and the pressure running thru it is usually less than co2 pressure, preset regs are usually set around the same or less than co2

I just wish there was a way to come to some sort of an agreement with the airlines as far as transporting our equipment. Not being able to do so on most major airlines makes traveling to events abroad somewhat cumbersome.

Iain, hope everything goes well in the future for you. It was reading about your injury that made me look for an alternative means of connecting the gas source to the gun.
I looked at compression fittings, re-usable braided hoses , metal tubes, nothing gave me the same qualities as the current plastic pipes. Then i came across the range of fittings that i now can supply. Hoses were not a problem, angel hose is great, massive pressure handling, but the fittings let it down.
If you had a push in fitting on your line, it's working pressure was 230 psi. YES 230 PSI !!!!, definitely not enough, believe me i've seen them fail.
I can supply 900 PSI fittings, that's working pressure not burst pressure. These fittings are a new generation of the existing fittings gauranteed to handle 900 psi (60 BAR), and i have hose to match in two strengths, 900 PSI and 1500 PSI.
Time has come to look at what's happening in our sport and not take things for granted.

Good luck Iain.

Tom.

If we have testing standards for bottles because of safety, and we can only use certain types ie HSE & CE why isn't it standerdised to use a certain type of hose. I tell you why shall I, cause we are all too complacent about it. The government legislates that we have to use certain types of bottles for safety reasons, but not the hosing.

I think it will take for us to self regulate this matter. Another words say you have to use high pressure rated hosing or you can't play. Its all well and good some of us going out and buying braided or HPR hosing like LPS do but that doesn't solve the problem unless we all do it. When elbows go they fly off as does the hosing at times. So just cause you have the good stuff theres nothing to stop someone with substandard hosing filling next to you, or staging next to you and you getting hit by that.

It will take for H-pac, or the major tourneys to say you can't play unless you have 'X' type of hose for there to be a real difference made, otherwise you will have the safety concious among us using the high rated hose surrounded by those still uasing the lower rated.

Agree with what your trying to do Iain as I have seen the damage this did to you in person, and it ain't nice. Just think because we haven't been legally 'told' to use better hose people have not done it (myself included). If we are told to do it or you can't play then it would be a different story, because instantly everyone would have the better hose :)

May be worth contacting H-pac, and the major series organisers in the UK and put this to them :) only then I think do you eliminate this being a safety issue :)

thanx toma

you wanna post some details of how people can get hold of it. or you can email me with them and i can check it out.. its gonna take a lot of convincing me that platic pipe and fittings are safe. im not douting you you can appreciate what im going thro. i just dont ever wanna hear about another baller going through this becuase of the lack of education of high pressure air

go on then toma pm me your addy and ill take a couple of these fittings off your hands....if they are rated to that kinda pressure then they will make me a happy bunny and swiveling fitting are much easier to fit that the fixed ones

i totally agree dave

yes your rite it would be a massive bonus to my piece of mind to know that air fillers and tournie organisers would insist on a specific type of SAFE hose before you can fill/play. you saw how jumpy i was when i pop down to the last training.

but its gonna a take a lot more than me speaking my mind on here to convince them that this is the way forward.

i would like to think i had the backing of the ballers closest to me before i set of on a nationwide or even euro wide campiagn.

These push in fittings started on the shocker, and they were capable of handling the pressure from the low pressure maxflow reg, but as you say, people became complacent and started using the higher rated hoses on the low rated fittings, on higher pressure guns, and that's where the problem lies.
