Obviously the blow off setting would have to be suitable for the output pressure of each different system. Smart parts use a low pressure one on their systems, angel have their one on the AIR, so every manufacturer of regulators should have a blow off, or vent suitable for their system.

I know I had this 3 times in Toulouse from the same system, each time it was taken back to official techs to be resolved. As I shot the gun the output pressure shot up to maximum, but what is to say this is not 1500, 2000, 2500 output pressure, just because the gauge is at its maximum reading does this mean it is accurate?
I read that last sentence a few times and I'm not sure I get it, but I'll answer it the way I understood it. When the gauge reaches it's maximum point, the pressure can still go higher. It does not have any properties of regulation, so if the pressure goes above its maximum reading, it will just stay at the maximum or go a little past it while the pressure continues to climb. Of course, the pressure cannot go any higher than the ammount of pressure in your tank.

Yep that was my understanding, what i was saying is that there is a potential for spikes of up 4500 running through the gun. In my experience, the high pressure vent on angel doesn't always vent when the system is spikinig (More often seems to do it at 3500 when all should be fine!), just when it is constant.

Well I guess this higher graded hose and fittings are the first step however - i don't think that wil crush ALL incidents unfortunately.

I think the quickest, short term solution, is to turn air stations in to Goggle required areas, this will help reoccurences of accident like yours Ian, but we are talking about injuries that could do permanent damage to limbs not just delicate areas like the face, I realise that, but it helps us show the outside world we are taking steps in the right direction as far as safety is concerned.

Then....well who knows, EPA? UKPSF? Maybe they could make enquiries with manufacturers of such equipment to see if it is up to the job, if not does anything exist - i'm sure it must somewhere?
The risk you run with this, if the regulation authorities like CE get hear that our equipment is sub standard what happens?!?

BE SAFE
what would happen if they cant get insurance would that mean just a whole more legal stuff for ppl or would that mean no sites :(

What makes of air regs are spiking way above the settings. My angel and my mates angels, have never had this problem, but we are not refilling anywhere near the same amount of times in a day as you tourney players. Lets sort out the air regs, as this seems to be the source of most of the problems.

And chris no insurance means no sites. in this age of sue and be sued, i wouldn't run a site without insurance.

dirt in your air supply will slowly build up and cause regs to spike.
Rebuild your reg once a month, and your gun will work much better.
