That leaves the EXL populated with only European teams, and if there are any more than 8, it once again smacks of irrational and amateurish thinking.
Now this sounds boring! Top euro only teams battling it out in X-ball. Heavy weight US teams collecting easy cash in 7-man against euro ams.

If this is going to happen, season 2004 will be as interesting as..uhh..no other word comes to mind than YAWN!

As to which teams accept these spots, it may well prove crucial to the success or demise of any proposed new league.
At the very heart of this lies a situation where the top pro etams are being forced to choose between formats because it is nigh on impossible for these top teams to ride two horses without it affecting both races.
Maybe the Legoin could get away with it with their reources but not others.
Robbo,

usually when I read your posts (no, I don't read all of them) you seem to hear rumours, inside info etc. You usually point at stupid decisions that has been made, which is a good thing. But what would your roadmap for Euro paintball be? I assume you have an opinion on what you want to see happen next year, not just what you don't want to see?

Robbo,

Are you saying that Millennium won't be offering prize money for X Ball, or at least as much prize money for X Ball?

That WOULD BE insane and would fly about as high as a lead ballon.

If they did offer prize money then why in the world would the Division 1 teams you mention NOT come over here?

Hey Steve, can u see an 8 / 12 team league offering the same sorta prize money as the 7 man with over 150 teams???
I don't think so mate !
The alternative is for the promoters to stump up a considerable amount of cash at each event, can u see them digging into their pockets deep enough to be able to tempt US teams to make the trips across ???
It would be nice if they did :)

DMZ, I think I have made it pretty clear what I want to happen in many of my posts.
I want European paintball to be represented on the World scene with the best teams we have to offer.
I want European Paintball to have the same media opportunities as is afforded to the Americans and that means being part of a World televised league.

XBall provided the world of Paintball with a vision, Richmond and the Gardners went on to develop that idea and hooked in Dick Clark which ahs resulted an enormous opportunity for Paintball.
Unfortunately for us Euros, Paintball in the sense just mentioned looks decidedly all American.
In Europe, we have so much to offer in terms of teams and personalities; it would be a crying shame if we were left off the TV paintball map.

Robbo,

I can only speculate that Mil would make it a part of the 150-team tournament, just like the pro division was during Season 2003. The only main difference would be that the pros would play a different format, X Ball, and only among themselves.

To do it any other way IMHO would be totally unthinkable (unless someone can surprise me with a whole different approach).

I would certainly assume/expect Mil to offer at least as competitive prize moneys as 7-player and therefore I would expect to see Dynasty, Strange and maybe others at the events.

Mayby you know something different?

As far as I know, none of the details have been worked out yet but r u suggesting the Millennium are gonna allow wholesale membership to this league and not run a 7 man pro ??

I honestly don't know m8. I just remember the announcements that were released last month that said the playing would be divided into premier league, division 1, division 2 and division 3.

The annoucement implied that the Premier League replaced pro and that Division 1 replaced Am A. It also implied that there would be prizes for all classes.

So all I'm doing is guessing based on the information and rumors that have come out.

If that announcement still applies and there is indeed going to be pro X Ball (I would be willing to bet on it now) then I believe there HAS TO BE prize money.

And there won't be 7-player pro.

'in ya face baby!'
i dont think there can be both! if you have say 10 commited teams for XBall, that only leaves 4-6 euro pro teams, if we get some US teams coming over to make that division, you will probably get a fluctuation of numbers between events that are unworkable.

you could end up with 6 pros at one event and 16 at another then 8, then 12, then 4 - it would be a logistical nightmare, and do the euro sport more harm than good IMHO

i think it needs to be PRO, AM, NOV, ROOKIE or Div1,2,3,4 and i also think that Div1 should be open for any team that thinks it can mix it! although if it is Xball i am sympathetic with the scheduling constraints, although a variation of the current theme could easily be adopted.

oh and there has to be prize money regardless!! or people will just go do the NPPL!

well that throws a few cats in the air eh! if the series is limited to 16 teams, and 6 are from the states then this table should be the definative list from euroland IMHO

would the worms and outcast want to be included in the top section next season? if not then there is your pro roster!

surely if the MS does go the Xball or Yball route then 16 teams is exactly the right amount for the weekends play! set up a 'show field' right next to the trade area and get as many punters in watching and spending as possible.
Hmmm didnt you say the other week that the 'super league' should be run on a first come first served basis?
Now up pops a ranking list from last year, with Storm in 10th, and now 'that should be the diffinative list from Euroland'?????

Its fair enough that your fighting your corner, but atleast stick to the same story man!

Oh Ive just seen you've written it in your last post aswell, make up your mind
