i get EMA, and alot of other people my age that play paintball also get EMA, Whats wrong with that?
i think it takes the piss. you should go to school to get an education, that should be incentive enough.
justifying it by saying you use it for a worthwhile recreation rather than pissing it up the wall might be slightly commendable but doesnt really cut it with me.

lovetone i agree with almost everything you said.

altho we do need a army. without it countries with armys will take advantage of us. i think a new fron to our army is needed. maybe train them in aid for when there is natural disasters.

i do agree asylum seekers and forign nationals get way to much from us. we allow to many in. however there willing to jobs our lazy society isnt.

noone should walk into britain and get free aid of any sort.

we shouldnt be supplying out of work people with anything other than help finding work and enough money to feed them for a week.

benefits already pay for houses. at a rate in my town of £750 for a 3 bed
if i was out of work id get the intrest on my morgage only. thats about £40 a week. yet i pay tax and NI every week.

Yeah I wasnt saying disband the army or cut funding.
I was making a reflection on Bill Hicks' idiology of peace and love for all people.
I fully support soldiers, and by extension the other people that protect us - fire, police, doctors and nurses.

I also agree that getting something for nothing should not be an option.
I would be a hypocrite (badly) if I said "theres too much immigration" considering my Mrs is a Romanian living in the UK. However, like my dad said " i dont have a problem what nationality someone is as long as they work hard and bring something positive".

I wouldnt want this discussion to dissolve into asylum seekers either.
Anyway, Ive made my points, good interesting debate. Ill be intrigued to see if anyone responds to my comments.

Ha, feeling you on that one.
I know that if I miss my mortgage - I have to pay for it.
I choose not to take mortgage insurance, and thats my risk.

Its kinda a balance. Personally nothing would hurt my pride more than being on jobseekers. Id do anything to avoid that. I guess that was my upbringing.

The breaks are tough; using the example above - you and I would both be, lets face it, ****ed, if we suddenly were unable to pay the mortgage. But personally I take that risk and have pride in the fact that I am actually able to be on the property ladder in my own right, not given to me.

the other side of the coin is living for free, but Id probably rather have nothing than be a burden on society.

...Are you serious?
It's much harder than that for anyone coming from a country that is poor or they need to seek asylum.
We take it for granted we dont hear gunshots every night and feel safe in this country.

That's because the country has been built from the ground upwards to be a place where we don't have to live like that. That's why it's so attractive to move here.
I can't believe this subject is actually being debated. I'd love to live in a country where we could afford to give all our money away to less than necessary causes but, as I'm sure anyone who has been to a hospital lately will understand, we don't have the cash.

again this isnt britains problem. the world continues to make us look back and all we do is help people. lets close those doors and run with the reputation we already have. save us 100s of million a year. thats unless they help britain out in sum way prior to getting here.

why should i have to worrie about a civial war in sum far of land. think they would worrie about me ?
why should my tax money go to helping hungry kids in africa (they tell us its only kids but am sure there is adults to) did you no every year our aid to africa has to increase to help the growing numbers kept alive by our aid? if a country cant support enough food to keep everyone alive and hasnt been able to for as long as i can remeber should there be a population decrease ?

i could go on all day but i have wondered off the original topic. i guess what am saying is there is alot more problems out there. lets start small and at home and cut stupid spending

Far as I understand it, asylum should be sought in the first available country which is not in conflict [citation needed]. Noone (I dont think) is saying the genuine need for seekingasylum would be a horrifying prospect and one which none of us would like to find ourselves needing to do.

BUT Far as the globe tells me, the only people seeking asylum in UK should be those 1 country away, not half the globe.

I think this is what gets some peoples goats - passing the buck to the UK, or simply individuals being allowed to disregard these rules for whatever reason to enter the UK - usually cos they are intelligent enough to know that the UK offers the best "deal" for them....

The government are pi55ing millions up the wall by fighting a war that isn't ours and putting our troops in danger,,and you bitch about deprived kids getting laptops jeesh......not everyone that is out of work is an alcoholic.

computing is a very important attribute nowadays,,so why should kids miss out on having the same chances as "rich kids" just because there parents have been made unemployed...due to cheap workers coming into the country!!
