Free laptops and internet conection

The government are pi55ing millions up the wall by fighting a war that isn't ours and putting our troops in danger,,and you bitch about deprived kids getting laptops jeesh......not everyone that is out of work is an alcoholic.

computing is a very important attribute nowadays,,so why should kids miss out on having the same chances as "rich kids" just because there parents have been made unemployed...due to cheap workers coming into the country!!

sorry the bigger picture is alot more complicated than that.

1. cheeper workers are all self employed.
2. to take over a factory job or anyother job you will get the same rate as anyone else. not to do so is discrimination.
3. the jobs they have are jobs we wouldnt do. altho now we would.
4. "rich Kids" as you put it have had familys work there asses of to get there. yoou try paying 40% tax then see people get handed stuff for free. do you have any idea ho wmuch unemployed people already get ? for the year i was signed of work id say my life style was easly higher than i expected

See above - schools have pcs and internets, as do local libraries, and there are also cyber cafes. So "same chances" bollox can eff off tbh.

If the parents are unemployed solely due to cheap labour moving in, then that means that there are jobs, but they either didnt apply for them, or arent prepared to do them, which is different to a company downsizing or going under leading to redundancies.

My Friend in school was given a laptop to help him in lessons because he had a genetic disease.


That laptop wasnt ever used for school work.

But oh my god so much porn.
It was porn in the back row of lessons, porn at break time, porn at lunch. Porn on the bus on the way home.
Porn after tea, Porn before breakfast.

And this was before the internet, where you got your porn on CDs (remember them?).

If you weigh up how much immigrants are given upon entry to our country, and then compare that to the cost of these laptops...well its a drop in the ocean......hello i come to work in your country on the back of a lorry i want a house, car, benefits, and child benefit to be paid for my children still in Poland...dont start me on this bollox.

We keep our mouths shut as mosques go up all around us,, our kids cant do a nativity play, or wear the st Georges cross on there clothes to school....bah bah what sheep???

For me, its not just the fact that we are handing out free **** to people who are not contributing to society. That's one argument and there are already plenty of opinions stated, some of which are hilarious, some of which are illegible.

The problem is how to do it. I know a company here in Canada that just bought 8000 ex-government laptops, 2 years old, for $20 each (thats 10 quid). If the UK government can purchase used laptops, clean them up, and restrict them to minimal access, then I could support the idea more. It's recycling, and good for the environment, and the laptops can't be used for porn-surfing and downloading movies/music.
But if the government give them brand new laptops, that working people can't afford, thats plain wrong.

The laptops are for the kids so i am with what Buddah said above, why write the kids off? You wouldnt think for 2 seconds if someone banged a tin in your face and said ohh its for the poor kids in Africa so why not help out the good old British people? If you look at it, its not the dole waller who is getting it first its the kids which really do need the extra help whether it be special needs or in a foster home etc.

Course there will be people who exploit it or just get the Laptop and use it themselves and not give it to the kids but maybe they would feel guilty enough to let the kids have a bit play around on it?

I think it should be added in the requirements that the adult take a basic pc course as part of the scheme, a module of which shows how familys can share a pc and safe internet usage for children. Quite a few adults know jack about computing its a good thing for a child to educate them!

Infact i gave my last laptop to a skint family for their child to use and the bairn loves it!

The more I think about this it does sound quite attractive for the UK.
I mean, the porn industry is a robust and reliable industry.

If someone from the UK, inspired by their childhood of free porn, develops a new 3d interactive porn medium, or ends up breaking the world record for the most 'insertions', that can only bring money and prestige to this country.
